Had some time out in the garage today finally to poke a little deeper into my newly aquired 45. There seems to be a issue arounf the rear spring hanger. Its actually cracked and the hanger its self has seen better days. Can new hangers be purchased? Im not affraid to weld the frame and try to patch and fish plate trouble areas.

I recall reading someone took the rear section from a 40 and welded it to a damaged 45 rear.

The more i look at it the more im leaning towards trying to find a new frame and preping it and just swap parts over.

What say you 45 masters!

I hate to say it, but when you fix all the issues, you might be better off finding another truck? You are needing a top, frame, bed, tailgate? 40 rear frame sections are way different and the rear front spring hangers are unique cast pieces that are not easily sourced. I bought a 77 canadian truck years ago and will never touch one again. Im just used to dry cali trucks I guess, but hated putting time and money into it when I knew the frame was not structurally sound and it even had deep pitting after blasting!

Hey!

I like my 77 Canadian Truck, especially the frame...

Original black paint and all.:D
