It has about ~80k on it, a Fl. LC, white, and $22,000.

Is it worth it?

I also found a 98 with 140,000 for $16,000 so again is the TRD worth an extra $6,000?

Might want to clarify, by "TRD" do you mean TRD Supercharger, or Air Filter, or Radiator Cap? I assue you mean Supercharger?
I don't believe there was ever a Land Cruiser TRD trim level, like on the Tacomas and Tundras, so that would be BS if that's what they're claiming.

You have to figure $3k for the supercharger (if that is what is meant) plus less 60k miles for the $6 difference. $22k sounds about right for the milage, reguardless of the trd.

your right, no TuRD package. Dealer installed make believe package..........prolly.

I might pay a bit more got a SC if installed day one(at dealer) and the truck had a perfect service history, if not i would pass on it.

Well here it is.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2487614130&category=6443

They claim it was 1 in 100 and all original "I assume factory"?

Thanks for your replys.

That could have been added at the dealer, but they never came with a TRD pkg. like the tacomas or tundras have. With that kind of mileage I might pay 20k because of the sc.

No such thing as factory supercharged, it was likely added by the dealer before it was sold if it's "always" had a supercharger. In this case "TRD" just means a TRD supercharger, I'll bet there were quite a few more than 100 of those sold, in fact I think you can still get them and add it to a 100 series. Not to say the ebay rig isn't worth it, just be aware it may not be as "exclusive" as they indicate.

As others have mentioned no trd package; but also if this is being represented in that fashion, what about the other details about the truck are being reflected in that same misinformed manner? I'd see that one in person, maybe worth it, maybe not.

he claims "no stories" with this landcruiser. yet the TuRD thing is a pile of BS. i'd pass.

If it was factory installed(and its not) then the TRD package would be on the original window sticker............its not.

If you are really interested in it, I'd give him a call and see if you can get a feel for what kind of guy he his, especially when you call him out on the TRD package bull****. Tell him you've spoken to a Toyota dealer or something so that he knows you know.

I know a few others have remarked on the used car sheisters in Florida, so buyer beware.

I luv these dealers that resell the used trucks. All that info on this truck and the most important feature was not mentioned....the truck has the rear locker option (see picture).

I also luv the "central diff lock". No wonder they still have it? :flipoff2:

I am most impressed with the window sticker detailing that the rear e-locker was a mere $410 option! How many folks on this site would line up to get that installed for that price! Daaaaaammmmm.....

What is the door code for lockers?

Lurker,

I'm glad I saw your post before you bought this truck, because I have some comments that may help you to make an informed decision.

As coincidence would have it, I purchased my 97 FZJ 80 from this guy, and I can tell you, it was an unpleasant experience! I bought my truck from him off of eBay on May 1, with the understanding I'd "most likely" receive it from him in a couple of days..........well, I didn't receive it from him until May 29th!!! On top of that, when it did arrive, there were MANY items/aspects with which I was disappointed (not disclosed or misrepresented), and I have had to spend a fair amount of money to correct them. Furthermore, since we had had words several times during that month, I decided not to leave negative feedback, because I knew he'd just make a retaliatory move and leave negative for me....even though I did EVERYTHING according to our agreement!

By the way, TRUTH is a complete defense to libel, so e-mail me for more details, if you wish.......all of my complaints with him are completely documented, including voice mails!

Wow, thank you for this post.

I was leery of the misrepresentation that apparently he has already shown me; thanks to the people on this board.

I've never had a bad experience on e-bay before abet I've never attempted to purchase a car or any other high dollar item before either.

You would think that someone trying to sell something in the $20,000 range, would be very careful because of liability issues?

All I can say is thank you to the board for helping me out before I shot myself in the foot. :)

I recall the sticker for a 97 was $820 or $840 for front and rear........

It sould like this guy is the ultimate middle man.

He sells the truck first, then goes out and finds it and buys it.

Kind of backwards?

My father does this with user tractors all the time.
