Found what seems to be a later model pig in a sod busters grove here in NW Iowa. Body is completely shot. I may be in need of a 1f head, but this piggie has a 2f in it with a 4 speed. Taillights look prestine as well as the inside panels. But I'm not sure if the door panels will work on my 69 piggie. As my panels are toast. Probably not much on it I can use but it seems a waste to see sit there rotting away. I could trailer it and scavange parts off it if he'd sell it for cheap. I would "ass"ume scrap price would be around $200 bones here. But I may see what he wants for it before I offer any cash.

Later model? What year?

2F and 4 speed, glass, hood, tailgate, etc, all good for spares. Disc brakes for a swap.

I'm guessing the interior panels will fit. I've used pieces of a 71 on my 77, so the reverse should work.

Save the pig!

You have it about right. 200.00 to maybe a max of 400.00. Lots of little things like door hinges, rear door regulators etc will transfer and then lot of the rest will pay for your costs but not your hassle.

Hard to go wrong w/ a $500 offer.

If you get it and part it, I want to go on record as saying I need:
-coolant recovery tank
-windsheild washer tank and motor
-rear view mirror/sunvisor holder piece
-if '76 or later, Aisin hubs
-If retractable seatbelts, some of those pieces

Let us know what year it is!

Good luck!

I'll try to get a closer look as I didn't feel right about snooping around too long as no one was home. The guy comes in the shop from time to time but I may try to call him. Where is the tag again on the piggies to decipher the year of production? I'll try and keep ya posted with results. Thanks.

On the drivers side door and on the engine block (but I can't remember if on passenger or drivers side of block)

My apologies on dragging my feet a little on this as I had some minor surgery to take care of on my yapper. Thankfully I can still talk with my fingers here. So I'll try to keep you all posted on the progress. ;)

Well I finally spoke with the guy today. According to him it is a 79. Ran as of last year. I was able to check it out a little closer. It does have disc brakes up front and the 2f motor with a 4 speed trans. The door glass is missing from the passanger rear and cargo area. As well as the rear window glass, fenders are missing up front as well as a portion of the front bumper. He still wants $650 for it, so I don't know what to tell him. I didn't have a camera as I checked it out over noon hour at work. Lots of rust, so I'm on the fence. Any suggestions or advice? Thanks.
