Greetings from Fort Collins man it is beautiful here and lots of built 4x4's saw a really nice 80 today with a lift and a cummins emblem is it a diesel? any one on here know about it?

I lived in Fort Collins for almost 20 years...It is a great city. At the time I owned a 72 Jeep CJ5, and did some wheeling up the Poudre Canyon. Not sure about the Diesel....Did Landcruisers use a Cummins engine.....??

Did Landcruisers use a Cummins engine?

Toyota builds their own diseasel engines for those parts of the world that want and get those engines. They have 2 (maybe more) that were offered in the 80-Series; a turbo-charged engine and a NA engine. The US/Canada did not get the diseasel engines.

That would be veggie80. He owns GreenLogic off Linden in old town. I haven't seen it for a couple/few weeks - I've been wanted to hitch a ride and check out how the conversion went (thinking of one in the future).

I'm going to hi jack a bit because I'm not going to start a new thread for a simple comment. It's been awesome weather this week and I saw two build 80's in the Parker area in which I live. I was in my wifes car so they didn't see me. I starting to wonder why the local 80's don't get together and wheel more. I go all the time and will start posting over in the events section when I do. I'd love to meet some of you guys and talk a little cruiser.

Rising Sun Toyota 4x4 Club

Go to the forums there, there is only about mmm...16 built 80's in that club...9 being white :D

We do. There are two TLC clubs near you as well as a few manufacturer agnostic groups. Try frontrange4x4 for the latter, Rising Sun and Colorado Land Crusiers for the former.

Posting on a local forum will get you a lot more group runs than posting on MUD, since this is a multi-national forum.

16, many more than that. We have over 100 members and the majority have 80's

We wheel together all the time. Do what ben suggests. and go to the Rising Sun Forum I live just north of Parker off of Arapahoe Road. A couple club members live in the parker area.

This weekend, some are joining the Colorado Land Cruisers (Springs club) at metbury Gultch. The rest of us are getting ready for Moab where we will all be wheeling together in two weeks. Check out our events and planning section

Thanks guys, I'll browse the local forums.

Hey Romer, you probably don't remember me, but I came to a meeting last year. I was interested in joining Raising Sun but since the baby I can never make it to the meetings. I'll watch the site and see if I can make a run with you guys.

Come out with the FJC Trail Team to Old Chinaman Gulch this Sept. While some of us may bag on FJC's here, not that I would ever do so :D, the Trail Team is outstanding, you can drive an FJC firsthand, and OCG is a perfect trail for such an outing.

At the end of the day, this is the point: what rig you drive doesn't matter, you're wheeling, and if you're with a good group, you're going to have fun and get out alive. To do so in a manufacturer sponsored way with a large club participating is outstanding. Absolutely one of the best single day runs of the year.

This is either my wife showing Chris a good time, or vice versa :hhmm:

Thanks Nay. I'll request off work. So if I get to try an FJC, do they drive mine? That's not happening, I'll never get it back.

Just FYI I believe the dates for the OCG run are changing due to availability of the FJC Trails Team...More info over at Rising Sun :)

As for joining RS...You don't need to join the club to join us on runs or at events. In fact, in order to join it is required that you attend at least one meeting and one event (whether that be a wheeling event, the Rally, a HAM radio antenna building party, whatever). And, there is no requirement that you attend every meeting to become a RS member. Trust us, we all know how hectic life in general can be...Throw in a family, new baby, work, whatever on top of that and the meetings become more of an "escape" for folks than a "requirement" :D - sort of like a 2-4 hour mini vacation once a month.

I'll drive yours, you can have it back :grinpimp:

Generally time behind an FJC wheel is pretty limited per driver and not on any of the big obstacles. Speaking of which, your sig line doesn't show a lift. Take a look at the trail reports for OCG - pretty big challenge for a stock height suspension. Not saying it can't be done, but don't want to mislead you as damage is possible.

First pick is my rig when it was on OME medium and 33's, which is certainly sufficient unless you try all the hard lines and mess stuff up :o. Payoff from the top of the trail isn't too shabby :D

What's up guys. If it's a white 80 with Cummins Power emblems that's me. I own Green Logic on Linden in Oldtown. So feel free to stop by and talk cruisers.

I'll do my best to make another meeting and try to put some names with faces. As for wheeling, I can only go on Sundays as I work every Saturday. I'll keep my eye out for a Sunday event.

Nay, I haven't updated the sig in a while. I got the 850j/863 + 1 up front going on and am pretty happy with it. Trying to talk the :princess: into letting me get 35's soon hopefully it'll happen.
