...bend up a hardline for the power steering pressue hose. The end is a -6AN and it will be adapted to a hydraulic hose running to the Toyota steering box. ***The power steering pump was replaced before the final installation. This crusty one is for mockup only.***

We're normally pretty anti-bling, but we'll make an exception for some thick-walled stainless exhaust tubing.

The customer was already running a full stainless exhaust, from back when the truck still had a 3FE. We opted to keep the existing system from the cat back and just build a new Y-pipe.

The old cat gets a little prep...

...and a V-band connector gets tacked in place.

DAMN!!! Now that is sexy... Question about the exhaust, are those v-band clamps standard stuff or something more specific to GM items? BeBe needs a new exhaust and to make things easier I was going to ask the shop to do something similar but looks like the v-band connection is what I was looking for.

Nice to see you running the stock cat. Why are you only running one instead of two, like the original set up? Not dissing, just wondering.

Yup, sexy exhaust!

Was wondering the same thing. This thing going to be emissions compliant?

The V band clamps are just generic stainless 2.5" builder parts.

The Cat is not the stock unit, its a stainless Magnaflow unit that was put on years ago. The old 3FE exhaust was gutted and a single, inside the frame rail 2.5" stainless exhaust was built. We just built to the cat because the rest of the exhaust was already 2.5" and in good shape.

Technically no, the truck is not emissions compliant. It is being registered as a "Historic" vehicle in MD. Here in VA it would be registered as an "Antique". It would be a fitment nightmare to fit 4 cats on the thing to make it compliant to the GM engine. Doable, yes! Fun, no!

very clean exhaust setup

Up next, we'll be modifying the shift linkage, to get everything to read properly on the factory Toyota shifter with the GM transmission.

...but first, we'll have to do something about this.

The stock shifter bushings are so whipped that even the Toyota gear shifter doesn't correspond very well with the Toyota transmission.

This is what they are supposed to look like...

I almost wet my pants when I saw that y-pipe.....................well done!
