Looking North at the Coquihalla summit. It's insane... there has to be at least 10 feet of snow on that road. Look @ the proximity to the overhead "big green" signs! Yikes.

By the way, it's 2 degrees and sunny w/blue skies in kamloops right now :) Beautiful out.

Hope you guys are doing well. Miss ya!

Yeah the coq got almost 2 meters of snow last week. Better late then never I guess! Took me three days to get to fort Mac, when it's usually an 18 hour drive.

Bet you used the ol, " we need to conserve our body heat" line on every hitchhiker you could find....:flipoff2:

jeebus tho. it looks like a scene out that cheesy 'day after tomorrow' movie...(or a certain wheeling trip best forgotten)

No, I save that line for when I go camping. :hillbilly: If you hitchhike in that, you die...

Yeah, it was pretty bad. The highway was closed all last night and early this morn.

This morning interview with Hwy maint guy, this is the most snow in one winter on the Coquihalla in the 27 yrs
since it was built! It's snowing heavy in Ladysmith right now, 2" and counting! Damn, should have stayed in Texas, of course, if it was up to United Airlines I would be...

Currently in Edmonton, definitely not looking forward to coming back to more snow.

ITS -18 HERE!!

My 23 year old son came in and said, "Quite the snow storm we're having... Well for February." I looked out the window to see if I'd missed something, and no still just some light so with nothing sticking on the ground. I told him he shouldn't tell that to his girlfriend from Ottawa, she'd just laugh at him. Then he tried to use the snow as a reason he couldn't take the bus... Gimme a break, there wasn't even an inch of snow on the grass.

Seems I picked a good week to by a 4x4 again...

This mornings drive would've sucked in the vw. (power out, left house at 5am with no coffee. There was great anger in this one.)

what is it with snow, that turns people into TOTAL F&*&ING RETARDS???

First car I see this morning blows through a red light on the highway and nearly t-bones me.

The silly cow driving waved apologetically at me. I waved back apoplectically with both fingers.

The light is red, I don't give a s*** if there's snow on the ground. you stop. I'd have a small modicum of sympathy if there was a steep hill involved, but Henry Rd intersection is as flat as the earth in Steven Harper's mind.

This was a perfect example of why it's not the malahat and snow I complain about , it's the IDIOTS driving on it.

/rant.

Dealt with some retards on my morning commute too, and we only have 1/2inch of snow here. I grew up in the interior where snow is a part of life all winter. I still find it stunning how little snow it takes to screw things up on the south island.

So seapotato, how is your new truck in the snow? It's got some pretty good tires on it right? Could you feel the LSD working at all? 4wd feel good?

In all fairness though if you grew up in the interior then you know that the snow often received in the interior is much different than over here on the coast. Packed snow and ice at -10 or lower is much different than 0 degrees. I do love the chaos that's created here on the coast though. Not so much the accidents, but just how much people freak out LOL :D

My job site is said to be "inaccessible" today, so I have a snow day. Anyone else off today because of the snow?

Where I grew up (south interior), we had a real mix of conditions, so we did see the same warm weather snow we get here as well as the cold dry snow. I know what you're getting at tho.

Sounds like a bunch of the schools up Island are closed for a snow day?

Truck was great in the snow. I was impressed. Couldn't tell if the lsd was up to anything tho.

Probably fresh tires as much as anything. Been a long time since I had good at's and not rf'd muds.

Good to hear. You did time it right indeed.

Very good point.

By the way, now whenever some as$hat flies by me on the snow covered road doing 2x the legal limit it reminds me of you. Not because you're an as$hat, but from what you once said about every moron driving way too frickin fast in the snow is driving a Dodge pickup. Because that truck that passes me doing 140 in the snow is always a Dodge. :bang:
