I guess that makes you kind of a "hangaround" then. You always give us opportunity to buy your stuff. I'll send you a patch.I’m down for one of the patches, but I’ve never attended any meetings or paid any dues.

When I bought my '02, I knew it needed a new rear 3rd member. When I started looking, I discovered there were 5 gear ratios from the factory based on engine, trans, drive, wheel sizes, and maybe 27 other options. Mine is a 4WD SR5 with 3.4 5VZ that came with the 15" aluminum wheels and the A02A axle code, which ended up being 3.91 gears, which is not common for 4WD models. I had to rotate the wheels while it was off the ground and count the rotations of the driveshaft and then divide by two. I ended up getting a used 3rd member out of a 2WD pickup from a salvage yard in CA that was then shipped to me. I still have the bad one in a box in the garage if you want to just get it rebuilt and it's the correct gear ratio. Buying a good used one was cheaper than rebuilding the one I had, at least that's what I convinced myself of at the time.I’m looking for a good third member diff for a third gen. 97’ 4runner with 3.4 5vz engine. Mine has developed a whine unfortunately.

Let me check the ratio and I’ll let you know, thanks Dennis!I have an 8” third that needs rebuilt. I have a good used ring and pinion set to goin it. I could build, so it is drop in ready if you want?
Looks like the gears that I have are 3.90.Let me check the ratio and I’ll let you know, thanks Dennis!

What’s your ratio? I would pay you to rebuild it for me if same.

This is the axle code cross reference I found:
3rd Gen Toyota 4Runner Axle codes:
A01A - 3.73
A02A - 3.91
A03A - 4.10
A04A- 4.30
A05A - 4.56
It's been several years since I did it but my recollection was to jack one tire up, rotate it 10 times, count the rotations of the driveshaft, divide by 10, and then either multiply by two or divide by two. I can't recall exactly. But it wasn't a 1:1 spin and divide by 10. I had help with the spinning of the tire while I did the counting of the driveshaft rotations. That’s crazy an 02 with 15” rims! Please explain how to accurately determine ratio by counting turns on an open differential. My attempts always return inconsistent results. With a locker it comes out correct.
I think it was a poverty pack SR5 build. No running boards, no wheel arch mouldings/trim, no roof rack, and 225/75-15 stock tire size. It looks like a bargain-optioned 2WD except that it's 4WD. If they hadn't deleted the manual trans in the US by then I would have expected to see that in it as well. That’s crazy an 02 with 15” rims! Unicorn

How many Rock Warrior Wheels do you have? It’s garage sale time!
- 200-series BP-51 setup. $500
- 200-series Budbuilt 3/16 steel skid plates. Engine, Transmission, Transfer and Fuel Tank $800. (No hardware)
- 200-series OEM struts and coils. $200. This one is fun. I suspect these will give a factory truck a little lift because they are spaced for the diesel equipped trucks overseas which are ~180kg heavier in the nose. These plus a 10mm strut spacer leveled my truck to factory height with ARB bumper and winch.
- ARB drawers w/ 200 series fit kit. $750
- OEM rear shocks for heavier truck. $20
- Slee KDSS relocation kit $75
-200 series KDSS rear axle housing $375
