Did you do anything to prep for the 35” tires? Breaks or birf’s?
@lcforlife
As a point of clarification, I think 35x12.50 is a bit too much tire for the (stock) brakes on this truck. It's a little "under" braked atm given how fast the SBC can build velocity. (Look man, I bought the truck, and I'm not complaining, just explaining.)
I'm going to take these 35x12.50 tires/wheels (tire is a true 34.5" and weighs 65lbs) and put them on the 74 trail truck (Wilwood calipers in front, GM pattern discs in the back, hydra boost, teflon lines, locked, etc) which would reliably lock 35s when I was driving it years ago), and go back to 33x10.50 (true 32.5"/51lbs) on this truck.
You might not think that 2" of diameter and 14lbs of rotating inertial matter much, but they do.
For the record: I run 35x12.50R15s on the SOA 74 FJ55, but it has build and locked 60-series axles under it, with the TLC "super caliper/rotor" that they used to offer, and it will lock the front wheels if you 'shock' the stop. It has a lot more brakes than this 76, but still less than the 74.
