I think this one is going to be a lot worse than Fay. And to top it off it's going to be a big Hurricane well before it hit's the open body of the gulf. Not looking good.

Could this be another Hugo?? Better buy my lumber before the price goes up. Captain y'all take care down there.

Thanks Travis. Flying down into harm's way tomorrow. Going to secure and perhaps babysit a yacht located in Georgetown, Exumas while Hanna passes. May try to bail out once the boat is secured if the airport is still open. It's going to get windy down there...

Added Ike to the mix.

Wow! Gonna be a busy season. Hopping Hanna stay away from the east coast and Litchfield Beach. I love my house just the way it is. When Hugo came through we lost the bottom story. Actually had water all the way up to just under the second story.

Hoping it avoids Charleston and hits in no mans land between Awendaw and the Litchfield area. Im 2 blocks off the beach and only 5' off the ground. The fact that the house has been there since 1910 does make me feel a little better.

last night it looked like it was going to hit in Georgia area just south of Savannah.....but damn thing is changing by the hour and cant make its mind up with high pressure to north...leftover Gustav to north east...and two others behind it.

went out this morning and 67*F outside which is about 10* cooler than normal and think it was 81 when driving to work yesterday morning same time.....felt great...maybe that cold air will help push it down more.

Well, I arrived down island yesterday and the airport has since closed. Stuck down here until who knows? Real windy night and a swell of about 1 foot in the marina. Good thing I'm on a floating dock. Hopefully I can sneak out on thursday, just in time to return again to do something about IKE.

Nothing is open down here. I'm sitting in the lobby of the For Seasons, which is a ghost town. Found some food on the boat but not much. Did buy some good Bahamian beer on the way in from the airport (SANDS). I am starting to ration it, though.

The SAT TV is out on the boat and I've already seen all the DVD movies. Never thought this place could be so boring. The oean is one berm over from the canal where I moved the boat to. It is sloppy. Wind-driven waves of about 6-10 feet.

Little to no rain in the past 24. Last night, there was little as far as cloud coverage, and a bajillion stars.

More later....

Been surfing good waves (for the east coast) since last Wednesday. Surfer got bit by a shark around here yesterday, not too bad. I get soooo excited when I see the Atlantic like it is. It feels like Christmas when I was little, so exciting.

Ike looks really well formed and could turn nasty. I dont think Hanna is going to be that bad just some wind and rain for the southeast coast. We shall see about Josephine.

The local swell chart I use has the waves going off the chart in Wrightsville for Friday, larger than Double-Overhead.:bounce::bounce:

This what you sufers live for. i used to be one in a prior life. Both of my daughters have continued the tradition.

Wind is still howling. Was at a friend's house here in Exuma this afternoon/evening and we lost power at abou 8:00 PM. Rum was flowing freely. hHs house is right on the ocean and the view was pretty cool..... I will hopefully fly out on thursday, friday the latest, only to come back here on sunday for IKE.

Sorrry to say but I will miss the AAH on the 7th.

Having some fun all the same. Wireless is now up and running in the marina.... Rain band is coming thru as I type.

This you? Glad to hear your ok. Hoping Ike doesn't get near you. Not much island there though does look like you have a good barrier island in front.

How about a GPS location of the boat? Think it would be pretty cool to see exactly where you are. Wish I was there. I could use a shot of rum right now.

I thought the cold air would attract huricanes? Don't remember where I heard that though.

We are officially in a Hurricane watch as of 5:00 am. Looks like Sanford finally decided to come back.

Have surfed last 5 days straight!

We had more noticable storm bands overhead late last week from Guy. Hannah has made for nice partly cloudy, but plenty sunny weather and light winds.

I'm worried about Ike. Forecast is too unpredictable and not too confident in that upper level being defined enough to keep it away from South Florida. Oh well - should have a better forecast when it's a few days closer.
