they auto shop didnt specify i need new fans, and I believe they are replacing the hoses as well with the new engine. If they dont, will I need new fans/ hoses?
if so, where can I find these

cool! so, besides the radiator itself, what else should I replace. trucks in for a engine swap right now and they are repalcing all the hoses (not sure if theyre including the radiator in that) and the t-stat. do I need a new fan, or can I use the existing one?

This looks like a pretty old thread but maybe someone can help me. I am looking at the CSF radiator for my 1989 FJ62. Earlier in the thread it says the correct model number is the 2708 for the FJ62 with the transmission oil cooler. On CSF website it lists the 2709 as the correct part for the 1989 fj62 but both the 2708 and 2709 say "without engine oil cooler" can someone verify which one is the correct one?

Your 89 should have the Engine Oil Cooler.......i installed the CSF 2708 on my 89....

The oil cooler tank in the CSF radiator is not for engine oil. Its for transmission ATF. As described above the engine oil cooler is a separate part. I think CSF stopped making the FJ60 radiator without the ATF cooler tank such that both radiators they offer for this era of LandCruiser has an ATF oil cooler in it. I don't know why. 2708 is a 4-core radiator whereas 2709 is 3-core, just FYI. CSF 2708 should work fine. HTH.

Mine is the original with 235k miles still working…89’ with the 3FE. Anyone else have their original radiators in place today? I am thinking of replacing just as a preventative thing but curious how long these can last with proper maintenance.

If you read enough of the threads here, you'll find current offerings are pretty hit or miss and I'm sure quite a few of us wish we had the original radiator to re-core when it's time.

I have the original radiator on my rig with 244k and all is well. If you do decide to change out the factory radiator, I may want to buy it for a rainy day back up.
Ty!

Nice! My trans cooler portion went bad so I’m adding a mishimoto trans cooler for $100. Hoping to run this for a while instead of dropping significant amount of money on a new OE radiator since I’d want to replace water pump and thermostat at that time as well.

In theory with proper coolant used and minimal deposits the original unit should continue to work fine in the absence of any leaks. That said it's very old so it's likely there are deposits affecting flow some amount....but if it's not leaking and you're not noticing any temp spikes (measured with mechanical gauge or thermal gun...not just temp gauge on the dash).

I replaced mine with a CSF unit and kept the old one. The CSF unit has worked fine up steep grades. You can re-core the OEM ones. They seem well built enough that it's probably worth it.

Thanks for the info. I ended up buying an aluminum radiator without a built in trans cooler. Looked like the only two with a built in cooler was CSF & Mishimoto (which has lifetime warranty). Anyway, I have an external mishimoto trans cooler to add to this setup…I hope it works well. Saving a few hundred bucks also. Anyone done this setup and worked well for you? Or would you get the radiator with a built in trans cooler then add the external trans cooler for additional cooling help on those trails?

My original popped at 35yrs and 287k miles, so I'm getting a CSF in there while I find a shop to recore my original as a spare

How much is it to re core? I changed my mind about my new radiator…went with a mishimoto with built in Trans cooler and I’m still adding the mishimoto external trans cooler to it to assist when I’m on the trails etc.
