FJ62 muffler and tailpipe availabilty

If you end up needing a Y-pipe, I've got one. I got it when I thought I needed it.

That's what I ended up doing but I had to drive a hundred miles to Phoenix and back for a 200 mi round trip... I planned it around another trip that I was taking up there. This was several years ago mind you..

Muffler tailpipe assembly is still available new from Toyota. FUTABA manufactures it for them.

MSRP on it is $359.93

Hey Onur - old post but can't find anything online to clarify - looks like this PN maps to an 84-90 60 or 62 according to the local Toyota dealer. Amayama says it's for the 62 only. Mine's an 83. Would prefer an OEM bolt-in option but not sure if this will work.

The 62 muffler/tailpipe assy. will work in a 60 if you change the mating flange. I make and sell the mating flange you can weld to your catalytic converter if you still have it (should be replaced by now though due to+40 years old age)

Cool - so the only difference is the flange on the muffler end is different?

Following up on this. I ordered the Walker 21423 and it was too big imho so I sent it back. Eventually I got around to going through their entire Quiet Flow SS offerings and ordered a 21242 since it was the closest to the factory muffler dimensions.

I’m usually an OEM guy but decided to go for stainless since I could do it for less when factoring in the y-pipe replacement. Cats are universals that fit the 62 and ahead of that is stock.

Thanks for posting this. One question: is that the Walker 21242 in the top photo? I thought that this model has a dual inlet? Perhaps you modified it?

Oh geez, good catch. I hope I didn’t mess anyone else up but just checked the invoice I saved and apparently I had a dyslexic moment.
