I'm sure this records is held by someone in Tibet or Sudan who's odometer gave out long ago. I saw a 60 series in Nepal that had over 300,000 kms. Quick google search shows that Nepal only has 18,00kms of road. The ones I travelled were horrible.

This is why we buy cruisers...

What is an 'Oil Galley Plug?'

260,000 miles. runs great. barely drips.

84' fj60 bought in Arizona with 203,000 miles with all the leaks and drove it to miami; has now 228,000 miles. fixed all the leaks and it drives like a new.
88' fj62 no leaks; 170,699

Now, list the ones that have the highest mileage with the original configuration of the oil galley plug...........I got 164,000 miles

Re-read my post and add "original oil plug too". :)

Mark...

There is a diesel 60 in Australia they use for Toyota adverts that has 1,200000 klms(800000 miles) on the original motor and H55 gearbox. Only the clutch and starter have been changed.

The owner uses it for heavy/wide vehicle escort

211k and still counting...
soon to have a shackle lift, and.....maybe, an Iron Pig bumper

Mileage

1988 FJ62
+268,000 Still rockin.

OK lowtideride,,,,ya called me on this one....

Just rolled over 414,000 on ODO,,,,add about 1000 to it
( broke speedo cable for 2 or 3 days years ago...
added another 500 miles while waiting for 'speedo driven gear)

Now for the neat stuff:
. . .orig engine ( with orig galley plug too), tranny , xfer and axles
. . . . engine not 'opened' ; just valve lash once
. . .orig brake rotors & drums ( turned once at 300k ish miles)
. . .orig U-Joints
. . .orig owner (me), mine since Feb 1986 (rig built Nov 85)
Never been north of Gainsville Fla, nor further than Marathon Key...
about a 400 mile N-S stretch,,,and Fla is only about 110 miles wide.

These are the stats from the around the world 21 year trip from the FJ60 driven by the Swiss couple mentioned on the previous page:

http://www.weltrekordreise.ch/a_status.html

10mpg on average says the log book... With 600,000 kilometers on the rig (375,000 miles)!

Working it out at $2.50 gallon... that is nearly $94,000 in gas using today's costs in the USA.

281,864km and never touched, just changed the head gasket and that's it. never cheked the valves. i think one is burned!! :frown: .

In australia there is a lot of higher milage petrol and diesel cruiser's not uncommon to find them for sale still running strong around the 350,000-400,000km mark. they truly were the last of the old world where if you give em hell they come back begging for more a couple o hundred thousand km's later
