whats an egr anyway????this sure ain't no edelbrock setup, whatever it is it sure is confusing

EGR = Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve, which takes some of your exhaust gasses and re-introduces them into your intake, which supposedly reduces the overall pollution levels of your exhaust (Nitrous Oxide, specifically).

I FOUND THE PROBLEMO were experiencing. before ANYONE takes there rigs to dealership...try this... it worked on mine with flying colors!!!!

unplug the vacuum from the EGR. plug the end of 'that' line with a vacuum plug, or screw. tuck the hose somewhere out of the way, and try driving it now. i hope that works like it did for me.

I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for the input! I'll post the results.

i took the "idle solenoid" apart, connected a jumper from the ground (which i took as the white wire with a black line down it), reconnected the solenoid, and then connected the jumper to the negative battery terminal. still hesitates... guess ill move onto sumthn else. 1 question though...if i did a complete tune up, had a jimC carb rebuild, AND changed out all vacuum hoses....would i need to go back and set my timing? would timing give these symptoms that missyc and i have? thks, sean

Try checking the "decel cutoff solenoid vacuum switch" located on the drices side wheel well. Also, take a look at the egr vacuum modulator. It's a cheap ass plastic piece that is prone to failure. You pull the vacuum line running from the modulator to the top of the egr to see if the modulator is the culprit.
