Looks great! I bet it feels good to have a rust free cruiser :D

Your truck is as tall as mine is and mine is SOA!

Well those are 33s... and I think I'm going to swap out the longest 2 leafs in each pack to some softer/longer ones...

That's the nature of what we do... bring it on!

Yup, that's pretty much what my truck looked like with 285/75r16s.

Well the springs were not right - my shackle angle was way too steep. The fronts could be from me messing up the placement of the hangers for the shackle reversal but the rears are stock and are the same length as the ones I had before. I think they were built too stiff.

So.. today i removed a leaf from each of the front springs and tomorrow I'll get the rears done. So far a test drive seemed to indicate an improvement in ride quality... we'll see what happens tomorrow after all 4 are done.

Also painted them up with SlipPlate graphite paint while I had them apart...

So I finished up the rear today and..... it worked! Removing a leaf from each pack has resulted - as hoped for - in a better (if still steep) shackle angle that has delivered a MUCH improved ride. No more B O U N C I N G over every dip and bump... don't get me wrong, it is still a truck-like ride, but it is now tolerable.

I will be keeping an eye on the springs to see if they suffer from the missing leaf over time... and also when I am loaded up and pulling a trailer.

I also discovered a 1/2 dead shock: it resists compression but not extension. The other one in the back offers dampening in both directions as it should. I guess I'll be replacing both of those soon.

So this is technically still work to get the new 60 set-up like the old 60. I cut back the trailing edge of the front wheel wells to allow for the rearward movement of the tires under full compression (I have a shackle reversal so the tires move backward)

Now its just a little better... no more "thunk-thunk-thunk" of the Swampers hitting the bolt on the fender...
