How did you mount the hood rack? Aren't those mounts designed to clamp onto the rain gutter?

They are false rain gutter mounts that you can get for these racks to either mount on flat surfaces or on sides of camper shells or what not.

We need a "Like" button clicky thingie...cos i'd be clicking it like crazzyy. Bitchin!

Wow Eric, you've stuck with it and it looks great on the back of your 4spd FJ62. You really utilized almost every part of that rusty truck! Good show!

a few pics of this past wheelin trip to Oregon. On a side note, the cruiser got 15 mpg the entire trip :bounce:.

Hey Eric, did you leave the bullet holes in the hood?

Amazing! Great build, and write-up, and yes, I'm a wee-bit jealous. Still-shots of stowage would help ease my pain. ;)

If I was the po-po, I'd pull yr ass over in a heartbeat, cuz I'd have a heart attack driving warp speed, and seeing that looking head-on at me.
Seriously, some states have rules about marking 'IN TOW' on stuff, just a thought.

Great work

And another thought:

if I've ever completely out of storage room, I'll put a basket on my hood. Can't be any worse than 12" of snow. Thanks for paving the way... :grinpimp:

Let the debate begin about what's best to store above a functioning engine.

that's just incredible, man, good job!

How are you getting 15 while pulling a trailer? I only get 12 unloaded.

I was amazed too. I dont go faster than 60 with or without the trailer. I even went out of town again and went over some passes and the worst I got was 13 with a best of 15.3. I love the tranny swap.:D

it's particularly impressive when seen from dead on back of course...

I ordered a Mombassa RTT for it, should be here in a week or so. Going to take the body off and clean up the frame and paint it, then work on more of the finishing work on the body itself. Still working the issue of the center seal. I have been just enjoying it right now and nice not laboring over it night after night.
Taking it to a local car show tomorrow, should be fun :D.

How'd the car show go? Picks?
