I need the motor mount for an FJ60 2F Engine that incorporates the AC compressor mount. I'd love the tensioning bracket as well and hopefully an idler pulley still intact on the mount. I attached some pictures from a previous wanted post (my apologies) and they are exactly what I need. Have a 1980 FJ40 and plan to install a new AC system. Thank you. Fred Fuller

the above pic must be non US tensioner. US tensioner mounts to the underneath of the alternator bracket. does you alternator bracket have 2 holes to mount the tensioner?
you'll also need a 3 groove crank pulley

Is this what you are trying to do? To my knowledge the motor mount along with the guide wheel below came from a US FJ60. Not sure where the tensioner below the alternator bracket came from? The FJ40 motor mount was recessed underneath, but the FJ60 mount was not. Local machine shop took care of that - just something to keep in mind.

I have this one for $100 shipped.

I also have this NOS bracket which is a more compact version, which I believe is for an FJ40. $140 shipped.

Gcrump01,
Yes I would like to mount compressor below alternator. I am not familiar with the bracket on the lower side of the alternator. Is that a tensioner?

The original pics are mine... and they are a GCC spec cruiser. So the alternator is on the driver's side. The pics from @gcrump01 are what you are looking for. The motor mounts are the same, but the method for tensioning is different due to the alternator being passenger side on NA spec cruisers.

Have you already made plans to relocate your battery? IIRC, the 60 bracket is not compatible with the battery tray support in the 40.

Good point, I did have to modify the battery tray with my setup.

This is true. I found a 40-series battery tray from a factory AC rig... it sits a bit further back.

I'm not sure any more, but I think Biscuit told me that @lcwizard designed a battery tray mount for MAF that would work. Maybe he'll chime in.

Sorry, I never had the opportunity to try that fit. There's not a lot of them out there to play guinea pig.

When 40's were still being sold, Az was barely a state. We'd just got indoor plumbing. Before that profuse sweating was frequently the only bath we'd get in a day so the cars and trucks were set up accordingly. AC was nearly a decade down the road

this is the tensioner piece that mounts underneath the alt. bracket

in stock form it is a 3 belt system, alt, smog pump and a/c comp all have individual tensioners
not sure how you would line the comp up with the alt to make it a 2 belt system???

I am unclear how you would attach a compressor to the FJ40 short mount? I can see how the compressor would mount to the FJ60 mount.

Fred

Where I have those shiny bolts mounted topside is where I believe a simple u-shaped bracket was bolted to the mount, said u-shaped bracket whatever width necessary to capture compressor ears, from the inside or the outside. Also, the beauty of using the u-bracket design was that you could make the u taller, and put in an offset if need be to clear the battery tray or?

I do, not sure what a fair price would be.
