Christmas in January

Had a visit from the friendly Fed Ex man today...he wasn't all smiles when he carried in my new bumper kit. All I can say is I can't wait to put this together. High quality. Stronger steel than I expected, this thing is the bomb. Mark has been great to work with and quick to respond to all my emails. Now off to the welder (at my friends house) to smoke some ribs in exchange for his welding services.

You almost gotta hide your smirk when you see em draggin it up the driveway.....

As i've said countless times before; solid kit, great guy. Super fun to put together too.....more like a giant erector set.

And just a pic to tease you :ban:

Just ordered a couple bumper kits and battery cable kits from Mark. Can't wait to pick them up next week!

We will be using Mark's Rear Bumpers on all our Teton Adventure Gear 60 fleet. North America's first TLC Expedition Rental operation based in Jackson Hole, WY.

Thanks for a great product!!!

I would love to do it for the 80 series. I need to find someone in the Idaho Falls/Pocatello/Boise/Salt Lake area that would be interested in being the guinea pig. Any takers? Would work out a screaming deal. Any idea how similar an FJ80 and and FZJ80 rear frame is?

Fourrunner-Great looking kit. I'm hoping to get one in the future. I was wondering though if you had plans to include a hole for a hitch receiver and include the associated hardware to put one of these through the bumper and into the frame support? I'm looking at shotgun12321's pic above and it seems doable. Thanks and I'll likely be order one of these kits from you next summer when I've got the cash.

That looks great shotgun12321. Do you have any pics of the underside? Specifically I'm wondering how you mated the hitch receiver to the frame cross member? I would think just cutting a hole in the cross member then welding the receiver to the bumper and the cross member would work. If need be a couple of gussets could be added too from the receiver housing and the cross member.

In the future, I'd like to get an extended range gas tank, and if I'm recollecting correctly that for the Lone Ranger unit requires the removal of cross member. I wonder if this bumper, as you have it with the hitch receiver, would accept the x-range gas tank. Do you have any thoughts on this conundrum?

This is probably the best one of it I have readily available without going to the car and taking pictures (let me know if you want me to....as it's still light and warm out). It's welded to the vertical plate, and then welded to a 5"x8" piece of scrap 1/4" we had laying around and there was already 4 holes in the xmember, so we just drilled them out to 1/2" and bolted in some Grade 8's. And yes, it's gusseted.

Thanks for the photo. Looks good. I think my cross member is different than yours. No need for another photo. Thanks again.

80 series guinnea pig?

I happened to be browsing the forum during work today and noticed your interest in developing a rear bumper for the 80 series. I live in Rigby, Idaho so getting together shouldn't be problem. My cruiser is my 3rd vehicle so I could even leave it with you for awhile. It is a 1992 FJ80. Let me know what you think.

At this time, I am not selling the blueprints. If you found enough interest in your area, we might be able to do freight for you, but would require at least 10 interested parties.

Are you selling pre-made arms for the swing outs, like in post #88? and if so, how much?
and if discussed above, sorry. I haven't read all of every post on this thread.

I still haven't gotten around to putting this thing together yet. its been a year and a half. what a shame huh.

I am still making them and happen to have one that is not spoken for. Send me a PM or email at tetoncruisers (at) gmail (dot) com.

Jeff, send me a pm and we can discuss.
