Hi all,

My wife and I just recently inherited a 1977 FJ45 pickup, in line 6 cylinder (gas). We have no idea what value it would be. Redbook says roughly $7300. Is this accurate? BTW, it is running although could probably use a paint job. Any help would be much appreciated.

It is quite possible it is worth that. It could also be worth a lot more, or a lot less.

A description and pics would get you a more informed opinion.

Also depends on where you are located.

Thanks, Kevin. Working on pics - everything has just happened so we're just at the beginning of this process. As far as another poster mentioned we're located in Ontario, so not sure if that helps or hurts us. I'll post some pics soon. Thanks everyone!

Rust is everything. If it's clean and just needs paint it could be worth a lot. If its rusty, the value drops considerably.

I've seen a couple of 45s appraised out here in Alberta. Both had good frames and some rust, even some holes in the sheet metal. Both were very near stock and ran well. Both appraised out at around $9000.

The big thing is the frame. Most of the body parts can be sourced either from the dealer or good aftermarket suppliers. The drive train parts are fairly easy to find.

Come on with the pics already.

Crushers on this forum is a very good source for advice and repairs/restorations. He's located in Ontario.

Pics! Specs!

Sorry everyone. With a death in the family, it's been one thing after another. Getting the Land Cruiser at our place soon and will put up pics soon.
