I contacted several companies about having the corner glass made and only found two that could do it. The two quotes I got were very expensive and I quit looking. I am sure there are more places that can do I stopped because it did not seem practical.

The first quote was 400.00 per corner glass if I ordered 4 pieces (2 sets) and that is if I mailed the glass I have to make the templet with. He said if a larger order was placed he might be able to get the cost down to 350.00 a set. He would want to run a test set first to make sure the fit was correct and the test set would cost 1,000.00.

The Second place charged a lot more for tooling set up and making the templet. The total cost for 4 pieces (2 sets) was 2,100. I thought that was crazy.

Still a no-go on corner glass for fj45s? Wonder if this place could possibly do corner glass for everyone that needs it?

What is NOS corner glass worth these days?

I'm almost certain that the 45 community would sound off for 20 sets. That should drive the cost down to "affordable".

It's not an academic question.

I just found a couple sets out of Australia. Wondering if they'll fit 60's era FJ45's? Seems like I've read where it varies between year and SWB vs LPB..... Anyone have clarity on this?

While the 45/47 were not very popular with a bed in Australia the tray flatbeds were. Very more so then the SWB 40/42 series. If not for the troop carrier might think the shorter corner glass was more common there. Either way more pickup cabs imported to Australia then the US. Would think countries in the Middle East might be another place these still could be find. Never researched since I bought a bunch of still available parts for mine right after purchasing my 45 before they became NLA. That included spare glass and weatherstripping.

As far as I know all corner glass for the removable pickup cabs was the same size. Possible a little differences in thickness but dimensions to fit the cab were the same. My early 65 model has the same weatherstripping that was on the FJ40 starting with 72 model. 40 series had more.then one size corner glass but pretty sure the 45/47 pickup it stayed the same. Be curious to have others pipe in on this.
