Hi guys is there anyone building 45 with a 80 chassis

I started my build a couple months ago getting the chassis back together now if all goes well the body should be here at the end of April from aqualu

I would personally hit up Redline land cruisers about a hood. The Aqualu hoods never did anything for me..

I have a oem hood the body width is factory fenders wider 3.5 both sides to make up the 7 inch differ on the 80 chassis

I have never liked wider front fenders. I think it kills the proportions and lines of how a cruiser looks. I would keep stock width fenders on the front. Plus it looks mean to have the tires sticking out a bit. Also, often times when people put a 80 chassis under a 40 body they get the position of the front axle wrong and it sits too far back compared to the factory 40 position of the axle. It looks weird as a result. In addition, consider making it a extra cab, a factory sized cab is awfully small unless the occupant is like 5' 5" or some thing like most Japanese people.

Well thanks for the input but the cab is stretched 6 inches longer and the mounts were revised to Fit on the frame

Nice. 6" will help a lot.

I am doing an extended tub 45 from a 40, it will make it more conferrable for ya and 6" is perfect just the right proportions in my book.

When the order was being put together we (aqualu ) and I decided to go with the wider fenders not knowing exactly where the tires/rim selection would put me I'd rather have the extra 3.5 material in the event of adjustment

What are you using for the drivetrain

Going to use 606 Mercedes Toyota trans, axles I have it on a 55 frame that has been stretched to 120" WB. Listed under 40 to hybrid 45 in this section.

Sounds cool I'll have a look at it I'm using the 6.0 lq9 with a 4l80e adapted to the HF2AV 80 series t/case
