Has anyone used these guys???: http://www.quietride.com/

They have kits for FJ40's apparently, along with a firewall liner: http://www.quietride.com/catalogpdfs/toyota_lc_61_84_catalog.pdf

Too bad they don't have a floor mat available. Pricing seems okay; http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~partsort~1~cadefjdx

I wish I had seen this before I took the time to make a template and cut out a firewall liner from some foam covered mass loaded vinyl I got from McMaster Carr. Took awhile to do, I got some benefit. I don't think I would do the whole interior like their kit shows, I've got a soft top now, but for a hardtop cruiser it may be nice, although it is not too hard to cut the shapes for a 40.

Just thought I would post it up though, I'm surprised none of the vendors are offering their kits, they look nice.

the only concern I have is when moisture gets underneath the insulation on the floor it has no where to go and starts to rust the metal underneath. Hands down these rigs need something for a heat barrier in the summer from the exhaust and in the winter to help keep the cab warm. Be interesting to see if any one has installed this or a similar product.

You don't live in Cali, do you? :) Top off in the summer, engine keeps you warm enough in the winter.

It was 4F here this morning, a 40 is like a flying freezer on a day like today, forget sub zero. Spent many trips with nothing but the windshield clear of actual interior ice, and the side windows cracked open so you could see at the intersections. The early 40's do not have a very good heat distribution system.
