Looks great!

Got to admit I wish you'd spend some more time on the 60..... I miss reading that thread.

Should help hold the rusty tub together, Metal Tech ''FamilyCage" kit with their tube doors.

How much did this "Metal Tech ''FamilyCage" kit " cost ? because that is one thing I will definatley buy if and when I end up in a 40.

Basic cage is $575.oo + $141.oo shipping.
Got most of it put together, just a few more pieces left.

where did you order it from ? direct from metal tech ? I am wondering about the difficulty level of the install from their web site it say's cutting and grinding is necessary ? how much and cutting of what ?

Ordered from Brandon at Metal Tech and had it sent to Ship Happens. $141.oo
The two hoops are installed as is, the two that form around the dash have to be cut to length and radiused where they meet the main hoop.
All of the overhead bars also need to be worked at one end.
All remaining bars need to be worked at both ends including the optional grab bars.
A tubing notcher would be very helpful otherwise there will be a ton of grinding.
There are no instuction, and i have seen many ways the cage can be assembled once the main structure is done.

Sounds like it would be easier to add to a regular 40 cage or even have one custom made if you it installed I don't have the skills to install one of these i can stick plate together but i would not want to weld one of these up.

It can be ordered assembled, i have no idea what shipping from Oregon would be though.

I think Ill talk to a few shops here to see their thoughts on install of this "kit" . One of the guy's I work with has built a number of stock car cages from scratch he has done other work for co-workers for 1/2 the retail cost plus

Already planed to add a few later as i thought it lacked a little in lateral support, but thanks for the suggestion.

Absolutely, in the state the tub is in it might push right through to the wheels.

Picked it up from a buddy of mine, 1900hrs on it.
Is an old 115 amp Onan unit, belonged to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Continental 4 cyl now on propane, came with a very large bottle.
On more of my projects.
I use it to power my radio.
