Do all 25's come with a puddle underneath them?

If they don't have a puddle it's time to check the fluids. Looking at this one it seems to be coming from the PTO. I have to check with Jim to see what seals are available. Not sure if the oil will stain thru epoxy paint if it sits on it long enough so I put some card board under it. But the oil on the card board came from my FJ62. The transfer case has leaked since I bought it in 93:frown:

mine has a big puddle of rust under it wight now

Now I know why I live in Arizona. In the years before the internet I cut up a 69 that the only real rest was the rear sil. Just couldn't think of taking on a project with this much rust. My hat is off to you Johnny. I don't know if I have in me to restore one only to know it is going to start rusting away again. Haven't even wanted to restore one if it was going to have to live in a garage here the Phoenix area. I am real lucky to have a better half (and I do mean better half) who knew how much I loved the pines trees to let me get a cabin up north and now let me get a garage/shop to work on my favorite hobby.

John, the PTO seal was still available, it's the same as the later one, should be in the parts # thread. Mine all leaked after replacing anyhow. Eliminates the need to drain and change........just keep topping it off.

Lots of cool old school things in those naked 40 resto pics.

Now that I have a 25 back up north I needed to find a trailer to haul firewood. I have a M416. Just one problem, staight fenders. I know I will never find or afford a Toyota trailer. Well I found the next best thing. Round fenders:bounce::bounce2: I looked for over twenty years for a 1/4 ton trailer that was not in the 1K price range. Now thanks to ebay and Craigs List I have two.

I thinking of painting white again to match the 25. Plan on a light restore. I installed Gama Goat tail light on the NM416 and really like them. This one has civlian lights. Not going the stock WWII route. I want people to tell I'm towing a trailer. Don't really think I need blackout lights. Other than striaghten the waves out of the bed and a few other small dents not much else to do. Well I do need to straighten the lunette. 15" wheels on it now. Find some 16" wheels put the hub cap clips, cut out to match the 25 wheels:hhmm: What do you think?

I think the 16 wheel, hole, clip, cap idea, plus paint to make it match your 25, would look awesome :)

Straighten the sides so they don't flare out at the top and it would look real close to the Toyota Trailer. This thing has lasted since 43 without being cut. I'm not the one who is going to start now.

I agree, just the 16 wheels and paint will be enough.

Which 16" wheels would you use to cut the oval hole in, and weld in clips on for the hubcaps...4Runner spares??

The trailer has five lugs not six. From everything I have read the CDN M101 is the only 1/4 ton trailer you can get a replacement hub and drum to keep the hand brake. I really don't want to loose the brake so I won't change the axle. Looking for original wheels. I guy in Idahoe just posted some for sale. I think I will use Jim's trick and just paint the area where the hole is black. Later on someone else can fill a couple of small holes and no one would know the difference. Might be harder to fill a larger hole on the pounded surface and not have it show.

Ooops, I meant to write LC rims...I knew that runners were 6.

Either way, looking forward to seeing it all finished

just need to get some appropriate numbers for it:) perhaps a border of some kind?

Johnny, your ride came out nice! RECORD TIME:beer:

Destin, you are a patient man, all will be well:clap:

Sean, maybe mount it on a piece of rusty flat metalwork, I'm sure one of us may have an appropriate piece. Then make a some numbers out of miscellaneaous parts. I like it, but would probably polish it and install it. :D
