There is no OEM front locker available for the FJC.

yet. maybe saved for the special edition. if he is showing a locker it is probably coming soon. that would be quite cool indeed.

I will ask again and see what happens.

sorry are you saying the auto FJ is AWD in 4h? there is no Central diff locker option in the automatic t-case so I assumed it was a conventional old school 4wd set up with locking hubs and nothing spinning up front at all until 4wd is engaged..

The 4x4 manual trans is full time 4wd, either 4H, or 4L, with center locking diff. The 4x4 auto trans is conventional, 2H, 4H, and 4L, with available locking REAR diff.

Glad to see we got away from the whole first gear ratio :shotts:

Rather than go there again why not discuss the merrits of the X-case gearing. As many of you are aware the bloated H3 has an optional X-case with 4.03 gearing. With off the cuff math I think that gets the H3 a crawl ratio of ~68:1. Not to shabby for a production truck. This would be a better option for Toyta because as most have already mentioned the majority of the FJC's will not see dirt let alone rocks. This option would be totally under the radar of the average FJC owner who never uses low range and would benfit those that have higher aspirations. On top of that it would be just as inexpensive for Toyota to change X-case gearing as the 1st gear in manuals, just not noticable to the general public. Food for thought.
