So this now creates a dilema. With scarce funds (after my lift and new tires), do I get new rock rails or new beefy links. I'm thinking I'll go rails first then go out and bend up the stock links, then I'm force to get Steve's new upgrade links. Now getting this all by the CFO is another story. Wish me luck.

I would get some beefy sliders first. If you bend a link, put it in a press and straighten, then replace before the next wheeling trip, bolt on damage. If you bend a rocker, your new buddy the bodyman is going to be happy, but I'm guessing your CFO is probably not going to be happy?:D

That's an easy choice.

1. You get sliders
2. You spend $20 + $20 labor and add angle iron
3. When you get dollars you can add the new arms (though if you add the iron you might not get the arms).

I think the Fj40,60,80 Market is already pretty full of vendors.

FWIW Slee already has 1/4" Wall DOM links for an 80 with stock bushings.

Part #:SOF1025 - $400 per set

That is pretty much what I would have to charge as well, but with the RE SF ends. I also really want to stay off the radar of Slee, SOR, MAF, etc. I have a good thing going in the 4Runner world, I'll dabble into the FJC because it's pretty much a shortened 03-06 4Runner.

With all respect, I don't think I want to make anything for the 80. I think the other vendors have it pretty well covered already.

I understand what your saying, but for 450 I would much rather have these bushings, and from a local vendor. I don't think you should get into slee sor or maf....
I think that the FJC has the biggest support group actually because everyone is making parts for them, the 4runner folks, cruiser folks and the 80 series folks. I may be getting a FJ also so I will have to pick some of these up when the time comes, but I would also love putting some on the 80....but whatever. I understand where your coming from.

I second the 100 series front, rear bumpers, sliders, and skid plates.. I live in the valley and would be happy to sport your new 100 series armor;)

You should get Steve to make a new front and middle skid plate for you. Then....we all can buy them. :)

Other thing we found out is that the FJC uses the same spec compressed/extended rear shock as the FJ80. This is stock 80 rear shock to stock FJC rear shock.

So what OME rear shock are you 80 guys running that is longer? Also how much longer is it?

The lower links went right in, fit great, no noticable difference in road ride with the RE SF joints. Unfortunately, won't be able to get in dirt for a couple of weeks. Darn vacation's getting in the way of my hobbies!

Thanks, Steve.

Stock Rear 22.52" / 14.25"
N74E* | Firm | 24.4" | 14.6"
N74L* | Firm | 26.4" | 15.6"
N71E | Soft | 24.4" | 14.6"

The numbers tend to get fudged due to inconsistent measuring, OME and others measure stud type to the base of the stud, instead of the mounting rubber. The 80 series rears I have here also measure 23.5", mount point to mount point centers.

Well, I'm still checking on various shox. Travel is important, but one concern I have about the 80 series shock is the weight its designed for. I heard, but have not confirmed, that there is a bilstien available (my previous favorite). Also, MAF is taking "pre-orders" for FJ suspension kits including coils and shocks @ $695. No specs tho...

We're gonna have to start a new FJ Cruiser suspension thread..;)
