I MacGyver'ed the FJ60 speedo into my FJ55 dash and reset the odometer to 0 to match the new GM Engine.
Now I have trip distance feature and odometer that actually works.

Switching to the 60 axles is more involved but the extra width is really handy. You can run standard backspacing on 8” wheels and have a nice stable footprint even up to a 6” SUA.
The split case is something I’ve gotten more excited about recently, especially since there are several low-range gearing options. It’s the only direct bolt on t-case to the H55, so depending on your wallet and wheeling desires, you could crawl at a 64:1 low range ratio AND run highway speeds with an OD gear. Where has this been all my life?
 
Great input guys. I have several projects ahead of this one so I really should be out in my shop working on my 80 and 62 so I can get them out of the way.
Unfortunately I don't know how well the gauges work on either rig so I will have to get a handle on that before I decide.
