Well, my name's Don, and I live in central Texas. I've had a couple of 1st gen 4runners, XJ's, TJ's, YJ's, blah blah. got out of it totally for a couple years and focused on going fast in a straight line. Got bored of that, and now i'm back. SO, the 4runner is a 92 model, it was a turd at first but its getting there now. I still need to build some custom tube bumpers/sliders/interior cage once we get the shop at my parent's house finished up. also have been considering tubbing the body and going 40-42s. the axles are full width d44 and a 14 bolt full floater with 5.13 gears, fully welded carrier in rear and lockrite in front. it had 37 inch milspec tires in the beginning, then 38.5 TSL's, and now i swap back and forth between the TSL's and a set of 36 inch IROKs. It is a bonafide daily driver, i drive it 5 days a week to work, and my daughter insists that we take the 4runner anytime the family goes somewhere. i'm leaving out ALOT, but i dont feel like typing a whole lot in one post. ask if you have any questions. enough yadda yadda here's some pics in chronological order *for the most part*

lol... ^^^

Sweet. High and tight for axle transplants...

You get any trouble from the man not having them tarz covered?

nope.. no fender laws in Texas. the tint's a different story as far as inspections, 5% in front and 1% for the rear windows. but i know a guy who knows a guy.... :) Also, i still havent gotten an ebrake setup yet. I've been putting it off, as i plan on doing an Tcase brake, but i need to redo my rear front suspension hangers, and at the same time build a flat belly pan and i'll do the tcase brake at that point. Right now the priority is bumpers and sliders. i'm paranoid about hitting a tree or rock and messing up the body. I know it'll get damaged eventually anyway but i'd like to keep it as dent free as possible. i dont feel like being that guy whose truck looks like it was thrown off a 50 story building, then dragged 5 blocks before being tumbled end over end for a mile or so. :)

gotta love driving down the road with my combined 32 inches of tires sticking out from the body
(with the 38.5/16/16.5 TSL's) and the LEO's dont even give me a second glance.

oh and I do have a d60 waiting to go in the front, i'm just curious to see when this d44 will blow up. its been surprisingly strong so far, only had a couple ujoints blow out, and its got chromo stub axles and its been surviving since then. once it grenades i'll throw the d60 in and go Hydro. Its a daily these days and i'm not that guy that lets a rig set on jackstands for a year or two.

With the 36s. It'll flex pretty good, with the 38s it hits at the rear of the front fenders. I don't have a bunch of uptravel, I learned my lesson with my last 4runner, it'd flex like a madman but the damn thing would flop over if somebody leaned on it. Lockers>flex. ;)

nice!

Glad to see you are not planning to rely on that d44...especialy with 40-42" tires...

Hey 4rnr... totally off topic, but I finally figured out where that avitar pic came from tonight. Love that movie.

Fawkin A, man!
