I'd be up for some short local runs if you are in the know. This is my first 4x4 in several years, so I haven't resaerched the local attractions....

Get a silver star and you can post alot more pics.

How'd you like sleeping in the back of the LX? I'm 5'9 and was in a fetal position. Not too comfortable unless you are 4'11.

Nice rig by the way, my next will be a black LX450. Right now I'm really happy with my 96. And welcome.:flipoff2:

Chiva falls is good for a short trip. I live pretty close to that trail and hit it often for a quick fix. I'll shoot you a PM with my # if you want to hit something this weekend or have me take a look at your ride. GeoRoss and I get together a lot to wrench, he is also here in Tucson and an 80 owner.

Alvin

Looks like you had a fun road trip picking your LX home.

Congrats!

I slept diagonally. Second row folded forward and the Jump seats up. I used a Thermarest "original" self inflating camp mat, an intermediate (temperature) military, down blend mummy bag and a generic pillow. I was able to lay fully outstretched. I am 5'11". It might take a little while to get completely used to it, but I was able to sleep and get sufficient rest.

I plan to measure, but suspect I may be able to lay lengthwise if I remove the second row... Seating is not so important to me, but a place to sleep is!

BTW, what color is the one you have now and why do you desire a black?

I got the Star, so now I can bombard the site with photos!

Thought you might like to see the rest of the photos of the trip. Hope you enjoy!

Here's one big set!

Remember the trees...

If you have never been here, this is a must do before you die...

If you have never been to the coastal area to see these trees, you absolutely have to do it! They are of the most awesome things on this planet!

The LX is a speck next to this tree, and it's not even the biggest one...

I was on the 101 through San Fran' and spotted this dealer. I caught a glimps of the new FJ. Photo is not the greatest, but I think you can still make it out.

Here was a little diversion off the beaten track. I drove throught this area to see a couple lakes in Cali' and when I came out the other end, there was this thing they call Chimney Rock. I thought it was a good opportunigy to photograph an LX advertisment.

Last two photos I intend to post of this trip...

Prices in the Long Beach area. Not the worst I had seen, but clearly not the best. Fortunately I wasn't stopping to fill up at this time...

I made it to Redondo Beach about 40 minutes to sundown. I got a few decent shots. This is one of them; another ad for the LX.

I love the west...

Home came the next day in Tucson, Az. I definately took the "long" way home-- just over 1,800 miles! The atlas said shortest distance should have been about 1,200. I am glad I didn't go to New York for a 'Cruiser! I'd still be in Texas...

Hope you enjoyed the photos.
