And if there was any concern about not getting Toyota OEM parts put back on the engine...

Fuel Tank

Fabrication is complete on the fuel tank. Filler/breather necks are welded in, as well as the mounting tabs.
The fuel tank should fit +- 30gal, which ought to give her pretty good range.

Paint!

There was a bit of a backlog in the paint booth, but the painting process is now full on. Frame and axle housings get paint first to get the rolling chassis put together.

Rolling Chassis

The rolling chassis is starting to get put together. OME 2.5" springs and axle housings hung. The springs are heavy duty, thanks to all of the extras I just HAD to have (bumpers, grille guard, winch, roll cage, BIG fuel tank).

That looks great. You will have a perfect combo for super-cool 45 and great daily driving. I'm jealous. Interesting offset front shackles for the wider 60 housing. Why not outboard the shackle hanger like the front hanger, especially as nice as their outboard spacers look?

That's a good question that I can't answer. I do know that this is a very standard setup for Proffitt's, they do a lot of 60 series axle upgrades. This SUA with shackle reversal is supposed to give a much, much better ride than OEM. As far as outboarding the rear hanger, I don't know if it would be an improvement or not.

i read that proffitts closed down, is that going to slow up this build
I have been assured by the management of Proffitt's, and have complete confidence that this build will get finished. The build is scheduled to be complete sometime in April, which is perfect timing for me. When I get it, I will start driving it no matter what, so it is better for me to get it after winter, so I'm not tempted to drive it on the salty winter roads here (Utah dumps a lot of salt on the roads here to melt the snow...everything I own is rusted now ).

The build continues on, I am getting updates from Proffitt's on the progress. I haven't posted any updated pictures as of yet, but will do a bit later.

Update

So the build has been progressing quite a bit this week. The project is now a rolling chassis, complete with engine and drivetrain. Fuel, brake and ARB lines are pretty much complete. Electrical is getting going, and the final body work has started. So we'll catch up with some pictures:

tech porn ! I love it. :D

Is there enough slack in that air line for suspension travel? Looks pretty tight.
