Excellent price ($50). Fold, tumble, and lift out. Fit like a glove in the back of a 40. Probably could fit in other Landcruisers.

I have the same model of seat in my 40 and really like it. Cover comes off easily without any special tools.

Brackets are usually $100-200 on their own.

Can pick it up if you’re up island so you don’t get there to find out it’s sold.

Only drawback I found is that the steel frame is raw steel and should be painted,

Rescued this one on marketplace. Had new carb recently… running perfectly.

Only good thing about the film of oil that covered it is that nothing oxidizes. Quick bath and it almost looks new. After replacing the rubber hand grip it will be great.

I’m going to have to start selling off some small engined yard care equipment one of these days.

$25k

I've never liked vehicles with new paint jobs. The first time I pressure washed my 40, big red flakes were flying everywhere and that was the end of it's shiny paint job.

Those are cool cars; but I agree, I also prefer cars as stock as possible. I prefer to screw them up myself, haha. Had one (coupe version) from 1999 to 2005 or so (hence my handle: GTSSportCoupe ). LOVED it. Bought an MR2 next and realized it performed better in every way, haha. MR2 actually got traction and handled better.

Paid $4k for my GTS back then with only 110,000km on it, 12 years old and MINT. WTF is wrong with the market that same car 40 years old is posted for $25k?

Some old Toyota friends. My GTS is closest to the Supra.

Still has the protective wrap on the LCD screen. The black smudges came off the orange protective cover. The meter is in excellent condition. The test leads have some wear and the inductive clamp has a small melted spot that doesn’t look like it would affect its function.

It is designed for automotive repairs. It has frequency counters and a hold feature. Based on what I’ve read it should be a lot better than the other meters I have, and a lot of features not standard for a multimeter.

Anyone know where to find calibration instructions for this meter? It was quite a bit off before I had a go at calibrating it. DC volts and AC volts are now accurate. Ohms is zeroed. Hz seems accurate.

Haven’t tried to calibrate amps yet.

It has several features that could be very helpful when working on older vehicles. It’ll record voltage over time and give you the highest, lowest, and average.
Could have made use of it when my signal lights weren’t bright enough. Because they were flashing, my regular multimeter wasn’t useless. It wasn’t fast enough to give me a voltage at all. Where this would tell me the highest voltage, lowest, and average. At the time I eventually determined the flasher was bad and also converted to LED bulbs.

Maybe a semi easy ps conversion for a 40.

Is the angle correct? It looks too steep for a 40. Mini Truck? Not sure though as I have never had my hands on one.

Personally I prefer how 60/70/80 (or Scout II) boxes are mounted... and loosing the Bel Crank at the front.

Didn’t want to pollute the sweet 16 thread…

Some one had 5 smart car shells on Marketplace… dropped the price to free, and I still don’t think anyone took them. Happened to pull over and see them in a businesses parking lot. Four even had good windshields. One looked like it had papers and transfer papers sitting on the floor. If I were up to building a rig, I’d grab a couple of them (2nd for spare parts) and plunk them down on a 4x4 frame.

I can see it now… a 4x4 front engined Smart For Two on 35s. Long way from building such a beast so I’m not sure what would work best in terms of wheelbase and axle width… but I would love to see someone do it. It might be hard to convince anyone that it was just a Smart car… but it could be fun trying.

They fit on side by sides pretty well. There's a Facebook group "SXS body swaps" with several examples. Would be a fun project. Here's one I dug up quickly

That looks great. There were shells left when I drove by the other day, and when I last saw the add the price was reduced to free.

Do you think they could get away with registering and insuring it as a Smart ForTwo?

Oh to have the time and energy to build something like that again.

Fruck! Lets get back to rusty old landcruisers.

Who wants to put a smart car on a rusty old land cruiser frame then, 😜?

Oh I want it^^^^
