We are clearly at HOLY EPIC LEVEL III, which converts to EPIC ALERT LEVEL IV on the standard & metric EPIC ALERT LEVEL scales.

I will jump in and add that the shelf road down to the super top secret bikini beach was the mother of all shelf roads. My dad asked if we were really going down it and i replied with a yes, and then back up it! The dark rain clouds had me and others anxious about the next morning's climb out. We joked, half serious... actually completely serious but we still wanted it to come across as a joke, that should it rain we might be stuck down there for a couple of days.

When you look off to the left and see loose rock that you can easily kick off the side of the cliff, pucker factor a billion kicks in. My dad commented that he felt that he had sucked half my passenger seat up his arse heading down that road.

We need some caffeine just to CHILL THE EFF OUT. At this point our EPIC LEVEL ALERT meters are going nuts.

We're fresh out of caffeine pills, so we break out the traditional just-made-it-to-camp-in-one-piece beers and toast the sh!t out of everyone in sight.

Whoa Bro! @beno just lost his mind reliving this HOLY EVERLOVING EPIC ALERT LEVEL IV Level on the meter, but none of this has yet happenened and still this is just your average, everyday ALERT LEVEL IV epic trip to Utah. Our minds have still yet to be boggled. We are still keeping our sh!t together.

... Rains be a coming though....

I have a strange feeling that Yosemitebear62 is nearby....possibly camping with those hot babes on the island. I just know it.

It almost feels like whatever you mentally summon at this point will shortly become reality.

So there we are, on the shores of Lake Powell, narrowly escaping death time after time after time, just hundreds of yards away from a literal boatload of hot, tan, stranded, umbrella drink-making bikini-clad college-age wimmin on their way back from sea, toasting each other with frosty locally sourced IPA's pulled from the coldest depths of our on-board overland refrigerators, when the mother of all storm clouds is approaching in the distance.

Out of nowhere, come fishing boats and jet boats, racing away from these cumulonimbic towers of doom.

...and then...
I liked the silver on the canyon walls slowly advancing toward us, then the pouring rain, and then the double rainbow. A complete, edge to edge rainbow, with a double. It was dry an hour later. Way cool.

We could see the storm slowly approaching, the walls of the canyons becoming moist like the moister...

Soon we had to hop in our trucks to escape the rain. Remembering that double rainbow we were graced with on the shores of the Wilson Reservoir in NevADa, almost one year ago, to the day, we start joking.

Steve2 has a premonition... he notices that behind the clouds is a wave of sunshine. And conditions are ripe, if we believe hard enough...

The rain passes us by. I had turned my truck around mid-storm so as to wash all sides evenly, lest the tan babe-chicks return, btw.

We are blessed with the most beautiful surroundings imaginable...

We climb out from our trucks, minds in the verge of exploding, but still not yet boggled. We are probably digging for second beers at this point, toasting each other, thankful that our lives are still intact...

And then, it's like nothing ever happened. It's all gone. Disappeared.
