Faster Wiper Motors

I've also wondered about this...
My '73 is going to end up more Chevy than Toyota... not sure how my elctronics and delay timers are going to work with the origional wiper motor... wonder what might be a close fit, or not involve too much fabbing...

scouthead,

Of course, "Toy-lay"... :hillbilly: (dern french)...

Now, if one were to match it up with Corvette parts... ;)

To stick to the thread, I've noticed that my wipers speed up considerably as I clean up various electrical terminals and splices. You could be simply experiencing voltage drop. Is there a big difference is speed with the headlights and blower motor(s) on and off? That would indicate a voltage drop situation... which is easily remedied.

???????????????

Corvota?

???????????????

and I always thought my wipers were working about as good as they ever could have (in my'76 55), but still nothing like a newer car/truck. Still better than the vacuum wipers on my scout though!

scouthead,

I agree that the older 55 wiper speeds pale in comparison to newer vehicles, however, I had luck with improving the speed in mine and thought I would simply share that with you. ;)

Steel wool and contact cleaner (and some elbow grease) is relatively cheap compared to a wiper motor change-over!

Corvota or... a Toylette?.... there's no L... dern it!
