Before I head north for work during the summer months I plan on doing a camping trip.... mid May-(ish)

I have had to purchase an RV (trailer). Yeah yeah..... don't laugh too hard, the RTT is still my preferred island back road accommodation by far. But I digress..

I bought my leaky cardboard box towing, road congesting, old age adventuring, front yard eye-soaring, rather square looking gypsy mobile so I'd have a place to live, cook and sleep while working up north.

I have to drag this awful monstrosity the better part of 4000kms north and I thought I'd give it a bit of a shakedown run before I did so.

I'd like to go somewhere "up island" for a bit of....uh....camping? I have recruited Adam (hellbent40) and his family thus far. Seapotatoe might make an appearance in his Boler (septic tank conversion) mobile as well but who knows?;)

So does anyone want to join? Don't feel the need to have a tent on wheels or anything. At this point I'm looking at suggestions and victims... any suggestions.

Horne lake?
Sprout lake?
Parksville?
Comox?

let's hear it....

More up the Island the better - I like it north of Campbell River - fewer campsite competitors and tards

I agree with this idea;).

Many years ago I built a fj40 with diesel yada yada for a guy in California, he flew up with a pal and they borrowed my BJ60 and went way north camping while I finalized a few things on the truck...

They had a blast.

If me the wife and kids were not heading to Mexico I would tag along.

yep, i will be there with my new to me trailer...

Don't know really..... I don't have a date set in mind. I suppose the weekend of May 18th. Hows that work?

May 24 (long weekend I believe) works as well but things might be booked up.

Who is available for what?

Jason? care to chime in?

Whatever the case we'll have fun and get this finalized.

Still looking for suggestions on where to go!

Honeymoon bay? anyone been there? Anyone have a boat?

Adam's family and my family will be camping at French Beach or China beach depending on where we can find a spot. We are heading there Thurs. in the am. will be ther till Sunday if all goes well.

I wont have the Cruiser as it can barly pull itself let alone a big trailer! LOL.

Feel free to stop by and visit.

Look for a gray dodge ram with a firefighter plate on the front and youll be in the right place. Adam's site will have a new white Jeep of some sort. (I refuse to learn jeep models because they all blow) :flipoff2:

Happy Long weekend!

...winds will be up if the weather holds...:hhmm:

Unfortunately my windsurfer is about 1/4" too thick to fit under our roof tent... It will have to get strapped on top. Honey, I need a new (thinner) windsurfer!? :D :D :D
