what year did the factory front seats get headrests?

73ish, As soon as they went to buckets in the Canadian market.

Some bench seats had hardware but I've not seen headrests on them.

Thanks...trying to figure out what my 78 would have had originally. Previous owner put different seats in it that set too high and I wanna go back stock. It's an Australian 78...would it have had grey or black seats? Headrest?

Dark grey almost black - here is an image on SORs site.

79 and later had a lighter color grey

i believe the darker grey, is called charcoal grey.

In Australia it may have come with a 40/60 split bench seat. North America had buckets starting with the 73 model 40 series but many still got the split bench seats. By 78 guessing headrests were at least a option if not standard in the Australian market.

My 73 has the slots/holes with factory plugs in them. My 74 has headrest. I'm not sure if head rest were an option or standard.
