Looks like you guys are having fun. Nice hill! Unlike the name of this site I LIKE MUD! :bounce: I´ll take mud over rocks any day. Mud doesn´t cost me in paint fixes or body work. Trees on the other hand :rolleyes:... well you can´t have everything.

Because is a Small & Light Engine but with too much HP (125 Hp Stock maybe after touch and change...) :D :hillbilly: :popcorn:


The 2L-T engine only have 86 hp :doh: :doh:, but right now i`m waiting to find a good used engine ;)

I put a 1kz-te in my lj70, best mod I ever did. Was considering 13bt but I believe a little too heavy for the coil sprung lj70, something I will never know now.

I was considering 13B-T engine too, but here in Europe is not easy to find, and if you find is expensive. My cousin KIKE put a 1KZ-TE on the LJ-70, fantastic engine, but the only problem is the head-engine :doh:

If the engine is ok when you get one then use and treat with respect; in other word dont trash it.

Make sure you install the 1kz radiator, its bigger than the original lj70.

If you go for auto box, install a transmission cooler.

Make sure the temp gauge works and better to install an after market temp gauge.

The 1kz will really go in a lj70, had mine up to 150kmph, a once only. I can cruise on the highway at 120 to 130 with ease, but usually do about 100.

Regular service and checks on oil and coolants levels.

Other than that, enjoy it, I certainly do.

There's potential in the 1kz for more hp and torque; intercooler, boost control, ecu piggy chip (te model), 3" exhaust and dump pipe. I am in the process of doing these mods.

I have kzt engine on my Lj70, but no intercooler. I have increased the size off cooling radiator and no problem at all! Amazing change if we speak comparing 2lt from original lj70!
