F1 Redline?

I have a 1970 FJ40 with a stock driveline (three speed transmission.) Dose anyone out there know what the rated maximum RPM (redline) is for this engine?

I heard that it was about 4000rpm

yep 4000rpms and that where the max HP(135/145/155) is rated at.........I aint never had an F that high.....a 2f yes.

I have had a 72 F to 4300 before.
2F to more like 5200

But I really don't reccomend it

4K is about right

Additionally, much over 3K they just make noise unless mods have been done..

It ain't about redline in these babies.
4k isn't a place to hang around. Normal driving
3k or so and the old motor will appreciate it.

i never take mine over 4 grand till today, ist day back in the 40 (no more diesel 45 )

after rebuilding the diff and stuff, swore i'd never spin a wheel again... so i went out to the claypan today and kinda reved it a little... saw the wrong side of 5 grand (oops)... still goes strong though, love the fact i can start it over a year later first crank, and drive down the street without a worry
