BBT looked quite at home at the VLA. Seemingly making the antennas look small in comparison to its girth.

It also cleared up the image of the BBT... some alien s*** going on for sure.

Hmmm, I’m not following. Here’s a screenshot from my phone:

He uses the word “trip” a lot

We got back on the highway, backtracked about a mile or two and took the turn South into the Cibola National Forest. We had some intel that we could find some sweet exploring & camping opportunities near Monica's Cabin. There is also a fire/lookout tower on top of Mt. Withington that was worth the visit, plus we needed to head south for Sunday's adventures. It was supposed to be cold that night, so we wanted to find a good spot that was not at high elevation (spoiler alert).

We had a lot of ground to cover before we hit the mountains, and the washboard roads were brutal at times. High speed was the only way to go...

Once hit the hills, we took the trail toward Monica's Cabin. The scenery we encountered was fuggin' beautiful. Golden grass, lots of trees, and lots of visibility through the forest thanks to a fire that cleared out the underbrush in the past few years.

It was a beautiful trail that was easy, but offered a place or two two twist your axles...

Unfortunately, we were stopped in our tracks by a long-closed route...

So we had to turn around and head toward Mt. Withington, away from the warm(er) lower elevations. It was pretty cool though, we could catch glimpses of the VLA the whole way up...

Soon we reached the Lookout at 10,119'. The tower was locked, but we were able to explore the property.

Amazing.

There was a cool old outhouse out in the field below the Lookout tower...

Of course, @Fireman had to take it for a spin...

If you aren't familiar with her plight, you should be.
