hey y'all..I just purchased a 95 4runner manual...It has 203XXX on it..However it was reconditioned at 199k(head gasket, full tune, injectors cleaned..etc) and runs very smooth..I have been contemplating an extended coverage plan...I am sure y'all have heard of these..Are they legit?...I am going to pass this on to my son and he is in collage..With these high miles thinking it may be something to look into?...Any feed back i am all ears?..Thank you..C

In general, those things are a giant rip-off. I'm curious to know if anybody will actually provide coverage for a vehicle that old, with that many miles on it.

It's a 14 year old vehicle with a ton of miles on it. It's just a crap shoot at this point.

You gotta be kidding right?

You might find someone to offer an extended warraty but you will probably pay as much in premium as the truck is worth. Yea we see Crusty Wallace on TV pimpin' his endorsement of some scam saying how wonderful everything is.....and Carmax will will buy your car even if you don't buy one from them. Both examples of preying on peoples' stupidity.

I do feel what y'all are saying..And yes i was offered an extended plan...250 bye in...1000 miles 30 day waiting period at 54 bucks a month...anything breaks down they pay 100%blah blah...And they did offer this plan with the high miles(in writing)..According to my calculations that is 648 a year...Will i incur that much in cost on my 4runner?..I do not know...But i am not a mechanic..and i just got rid of a money pit toyota that was breaking my bank...Just putting this out there guys..ya know what i am saying..C

And BTW i do smell a rat here which is why i am asking you guys..And on one hand if my block were to go toast on me and this coverage pays for it?...that is a little bit of security ..Blah:rolleyes:

Check out the Better Business Bureau, I think they have a big problem with these places actually paying claims. It seems like they always come up with a reason not to pay.
