There are many reasons why they are superior to all others.

Overland Journal had a small article on Jerry cans that detailed their superiority (such as the dual handle design that enabled you to carry two in one hand), and how the US screwed up the design trying to save time/money.

dclee: Sorry - knew that. Just making a poor joke...

I'm not sure if this would work but the Expedition one looks thin enough to possibly fit under the Front Runner, couple that with their metal table slider for under rack mounting and it maybe even more of a space saver - just a thought

i've been using two of the geri cans for a little over a year now and like them. I keep them strapped down in the back of my fj40. They maintain their seal just fine, but i'm not a fan of the screw lids. If you're not careful then they can not seal properly, but so long as you double check you'll be just fine.
I fill them up every time i get gas, after dumping them into the main tank.
They're easy to move and pack gear around. They also fit very well in the back of my camry.
just my $0.02

SmoothLC,

As for the the Expedition One Geri Cans, I can't help you with the idea of a backboard for midgets but as gas cans and water cans they did well on a 2 week trip in Colorado last year. I had 1 water and 1 gas can and we had no leaks and no problems with either can. They went from elevations ranging from 100' to 12,000' and temps of 19 degrees to 80 degrees. The moving and pouring of the cans was no big deal for either me or for my wife.

Not 100 specific but I have a Windcheetah on my Tacoma and have test mounted the Geri cans on it, it worked out nicely. As I have an entire bed for things like fuel cans I didn't proceed with the mounting but if I ever do I would use the RotoPax mounts with the Geri cans.

Rotorpax mount:

Kurt - Have you tried your Wind Cheetah with a RotopaX 4 gallon gasoline pack?

I've been thinking about using this instead since the Expedition One cans aren't available.

Maybe use the RotopaX Mounting Bracket since the holes don't line up with the slats in the Wind Cheetah.

I have laid them along the rack but never installed. personally I'd use the single twist mount and just modify it to fit the Wind Cheetah slats but the bracket would make for an easy install too.

Thanks Kurt.

I may try that option first to see how it works.

The expedition one packs are excellent, stay away from the kolpin ones, they leak. Expedition one use to make the kolpin ones but then kolpin decided to make there own from blow molding instead of roto molding. The kolpins are very thin and there is no seal on the spout or cap. Very hard to get to seal. Not impressed with kolpin at all.
