darn, that's right his rig fits in the garage!...hmmmmm i hope that due to the rain, there is a black out so his welder doesn't work!!!

I'd say stop hating, but you did help me bump my FS thread :flipoff2:

Do you just show up a Luke's place and start throwing stuff in your truck?!

I wish it were that easy. I usually have to give him currency first :)

LOL I envy you being that close to him, his shop must be pretty kick ass!
I've been emailing him about working up a pair of swing outs for my IPOR rear.

Everywhere you look there's bumpers and bumper parts and 55s and 60s and 80s. Ruff Stuff is right up the road too

I installed electromagnets on my rigs and switch them on as I pull into his shop. Works.

Dude those must be some strong magnets... We all know how heavy Luke's stuff is!

His electromagnets name is Finny.

Seems to be working. Sucked up some stuff that even designed themselves on both my rigs. Currently I'm sucking up parts for a SAS (4Runner). Only thing it hasn't worked on so far is a Diesel swap for the 80. Lol

Ha ha I'll have to try that myself... Both a 6bt and OM606 I think laying around the shop last time I was up there... They were both in rigs mind you, but a strong enough magnet should do the trick!

You gonna SAS the 5th gen? That's gonna be awesome. I'd have a hard time deciding which rig to take out wheeling!

Yep. Working on plan and part list. Should be sometime before next season. I just want to be able to take either wherever I want without worry! We want to make sure we do it right since it will prob be the first known 5th gen to SAS.

is the bumper done yet? just wanting an update....nothing exciting going on on my end...lets see some LC porn!

Jose only welds on the weekends I think!

Based on how long it took him to finish his front bumper, I'd say it's still a pile of parts. :flipoff2:

Yeah the rate I'm going this bumper will be done by spring of 2015! Been working long hours lately and it's only gonna get worse as we come up on year end

REAR BUMPER PROGRESS

Did get a chance to do some welding this weekend. This thing goes together much easier than the front. There's really nothing to it! I ended up getting a single swingout instead of dual. Even though it needs more room to open, seems like it will be less of a hassle when trying to get in the tailgate. I only picked up the ladder and 2-can basket from Luke. I'm going to build my own tire carrier, will post pics of that as it comes along.

The point of no return, cutting several inches off the frame rail

Mock-up. Everything went together nicely

Here's a good visual of the clearance gained with a 4x4Labs bumper. My Sean Huston bumper was 26" from the ground at the rear-most corner. It stuck out a lot was squared off in the corners sacrificing lots of ground clearance. To be fair, I did gain about 1" in height after removing all the weight so let's say the Huston bumper was 27" off the ground not counting the weight sag. Still a big difference in approach angle.

Reminder of how it was before

This corner is were all the damage is to my 4x4 labs bumper but without it no swing outs:(

If you can figure out a way to keep your swing outs and reduce the corner would be ideal

Well I guess it depends on how much work you wanna do. Check out what this guy did. Notched the spindles into the quarter panel. Saved this pic from a very old thread

Nice!

Depending on how the lower is finished this could an excellent solution to the only thing I would change about my Labs bumper. And I dont even want carriers ;)
