i wish i was so lucky, when i did the doubler the first time it was 2 months before i was back on the road, and i did the install over a w/e,,,,,,, just happened to be the last one. but, it has always been worth the wait, marlin has good stuff.

you going to SNT? i'll have the toyazuta on the beach:cool:

I had a week to prep my friends topless '70 fj55 for last years SNT. While working on his I decided I have one of my own so I found a '68 on ebay for $500. I won the 68 that weekend while we were at SNT. After driving his all weekend there I knew I had to have for '07.:grinpimp: BTW what's the date for '07?

november 2-4, ive already signed up. been wanting to do SNT for a couple years now, finally got it on the calendar. had to choose between the deer valley pig run or SNT, hard choice cause i want to run rubicon before its closed, hopefully that wont happen anytime soon.

Hard choice if they closed the rubi but........... Hands down SNT!:grinpimp:

yeah i know, i'm slow but thats cause i have been waiting an unaceptably long time for parts. but i have it all now and progress will commence.

overall shot of new drivetrain:
engine, dieselswapper adapter, AAbellhousing adapter, 5 speed, 4.7 toybox, and 4 speed case.

and a shot of the bracket i made for the tcase shifter, as you can see it will come up next to the tranny shifter and the toybox shifter right behind it.

looks great...glad that thing is goin in a 55.

if i put that combo in my 40, i could use the tcase as a rear bumper, ha ha

haven't read up much on the isuzu...i assume the "T" in 4BD1T is for turbo? are you goin to toss an intercooler into the mix as well?

yeah i wanted the length, F/R driveshafts are the same length now so i can carry one spare for either end.

intercooler is not high on the list, its a solid maybe.

just for reference, the oil pan gasket is level with the bottom of the frame in that pic, the engine is now 2" higher in its permanent locale, lots more vertical room than a cummins. and before anyone asks, i'll be posting a few more detail pics shortly.

Cool man..! I forgot the details of your adapter again.. It is a Isuzu Diesel Swappers ring and then which bellhousing? How did the clutch disk setup go, the Isuzu clutch and the Toyota R151 disk, or were they all the same spline count? Killer man! Andre

yeah diesel swapper ring, AA bellhousing to mate SBC to tranny, chevy flywheel, centerforce pressure plate and special centerforce disc for chevy clutch w/ toy splines. clutch fork uses landcruiser clutch slave. pretty cool set-up i guess, would have been nice to be all toyota but oh well.

Chevy flywheel adapts to back of the Isuzu or was this custom also?

Why not an Isuzu flywheel, it doesn't have the right bolt pattern for the clutch?

if you get a chance have a read at some of my posting on the isuzu thread, i went into a bit of detail on it, i didnt post pics of the adapter part cause dieselswapper has great pics on his site. basically its both flywheels with a spacer in between to make up the distance. i took them both to a machine shop and had weight taken off where i could, ended up just over 43lbs total flywheel weight.

Howdy! Sounds pretty neat. Extra weight on the flywheel won't hurt anything. The bigger chevy trucks run a heavier one than the cars. Helps with low RPM momentum. John

Wow! That s*** is long! :hillbilly:

Do you have any closeups of the engine to gearbox adapters in place?

I can't believe this is happening! Good luck with the rest of the project!

its a little long, but with the doubler and other things its not bad. closeups of engine gearbox adapters? well, i only have one adapter, the isuzu swapper ring and i didnt take photos of it cause his site has as good a pics as i can take.

i am planning on attending surf-n-turf this year, so if ya go there you can see all the detail ya want.

couple more pics, engine is in its final resting place. not the best pic i know, sun is going down over the house. just getting something for you pic hungry wolves to look at:flipoff2:
i kept the oilpan about the same height as stock 2F, you can see how much underhood room i have.

and i decided to get the belly as flat as possible, that meant hacking the floor up to build a new tranny hump.

Hey Rhino, this is great. Thanks for doing the hard work so I can come in and do this myself.:D I have read the other postings but I still have some questions. I may have read right past the answers but Ill ask anyway. I see you list the entire drivetrain but what 5-speed is that? The HP ratings are about the same as a 2F with more torque of course, how do you think it will move a pig down the road? Where are you located? If you are close, Id like to take a look at it. If not, I hope to see you at Surf-&-Turf. I am having a baby in mid November so I may not make it this year.
