Engine swap in some little village in Sierra Leone!

As we had time to waste here in Dakar, Senegal I looked into the glow plug system. A little cleaning of connections and it now starts just with a key and the first time, even after sitting for the past three days!

As I blew out a radiator hose in Guinea a week or so ago I need to flush and refill the cooling system with antifreeze. I'll probably do that in Morocco.

We're slowly getting back to a fully functioning vehicle.

well, i transplanted a 24V PZ into my 12V truck.:steer:
i made a call to Lowenbrau and asked him, he mentioned it might work so i tried it.:hhmm:
yes, the 24V fuel shut off works on 12V.

:meh:

Does fuel shut off means edic system in the above post ? :hhmm: if so let me know and make my day !!(got a 24v one in my house here)

It depends on the 3B engine you have. Those with an inline injection pump (such as the original 3B in my BJ60) are controlled with the EDIC system, those with a rotary injection pump (such as the engine currently in my BJ60) are controlled with a fuel solenoid on the injection pump body.

Let us know what injection pump is on the engine you are transplanting and we can help you out.

The solenoid works on both 12v and 24v the EDIC is voltage specific and will NOT work on the "wrong" voltage.

p.s. Remember, we all have other things to do with our time instead of staring at the screen so try to give a little time for an answer! I deleted your last post because of it's poor taste.

Oke ill try to be a little more patient my excuse for that:o *aldo its hard to be forced to drive a 2wd:crybaby:

I have the inline injection pump with edic so i guess ill have to find someone that want to change the 24 of mine for a 12v.

Anyway thanks alot also for the behavioral lesson
