Engine Shudder After Throttle Body Cleaning

hey everyone,

i usually post over in the 100 section but am experiencing something odd after having helped my buddy clean out his throttle body in his 91' toyota pickup (22-RE). right around 30 m/h with the pedal steady the truck begins to shudder (feels like due to lack of fuel), not super violently but DEFINITELY noticeable. called my local toyota guy here and explained the symptom and he said possible failed TPS. went to the jungyard and found a sensor out of an old truck, same model, year and everything. still shudders.. that is the only thing i would have thought it could be, if anybody has got a suggestion as to what else may be causing this problem please feel free to chime in. just a side not: we ONLY cleaned the TB and didnt do anything else.

I would have said TB too, until you said you tried another. Vacuum leak at the TB gasket?

what did you clean it with and how.

check the codes.

you did get all the vacuum lines back on in the correct spots right?

also a leak in the air intake tubes can cause some strange things.

did you adjust the tps correctly as the fsm says to do?

If no codes show up you may need to pull throttle body and give it a good cleaning, they get all kinds of crud and you may have loosened something up
