To the OP they do look nice!!Its nice having the tires out to the edge of the wheel wells.I've been running 1.5 spacers for a long while.....no problems!!I just re-torque them every time I rotate the tires.I bought (I think their called Spydertraks or something like that. I bought them from Slee)I wouldn't skimp on spacers I have seen some pretty cheap ones out there, I would get some quality ones because if they fail(break) the out come is very bad!!Failure at 70 usually = hosptial or death!!I think I paid about $100 a pair! Also the bigger the spacer the more strain you put on your wheel bearings. So I would think a 3" spacer would cause you to replace wheel bearings alot faster than a 1.5.Hope that helps!

Looks really good!

Yeah that looks great. Ill be buying these now thanks to your pictures.

Does anyone know what the O.D. is of the hub? I see the I.D. of most of these spacers is 108mm, im just curious how close that is to the hub.

Thanks!

The biggest issue with spacers is the extra leverage that they put on your wheel bearings. Moving the weight bearing surface outward while keeping the bearings in the same spot increases the load on your bearings causing premature wear. This is not a huge concern, but it will lead to changing out the bearings sooner than otherwise.....

I would imagine if you are running BIG tires like 35+, you will prob want to stay away from spacers, as you are moving lots of weight away from the bearings.

:meh: If you are running big tires, you are already putting bigger loads on the bearings. Other than the extra hardware, spacers are the same as changing to wheels with different offset.

With big tires, spacers can be a good tool to properly fit them. Picking the proper size is the issue, too wide and the tires hit the outer fender edges, too narrow and the contact is on the inside.

Holy Old Thread!!!

People always bash on spacers... spacers are great...

People argue that spacers put extra stress on the bearings when usually they are actually running lower offset wheels.... Which puts the exact same stress on the the bearings...

the only negative one could really argue is as mentioned before... one extra set of bolts to check the torque on occasionally...

However, the positives are better appearence, better handling, and the fact that you are able run high quality oem wheels while maintaining room for larger tires and increasing your foot print.... instead of running aftermarket wheels that are usually lower quality

... its hub-centric and wheel-centric 6-lugs x 139.7 center bore,.special custom made for LC80.

I know this is a old thread but as part of my build I want to install some 1.5" spacers behind my stock wheels mounted with 295/75-15 tires on my 1994 FJ80. The custom spacer mentioned here sounds like what I'm looking for. I want something that is hub/wheel-centric. Will someone please tell me where to get these and how much they cost.

Thanks in advance.

All '94 wheels that I have seen are 16"? The stock wheels on US spec '94 rigs have acorn/taper lugs, so are lug centric.

My bad... Typo. They are indeed 16"

I love my eBay spacers. Got em from "completevalue" 118$ shipped

A little update as i just noticed this thread was pulled back from the dead, the spacers i bought back in 01-06-2011 are still running great! bought some new tires (305 70 R16's) and the truck looks just about perfect now! i dont really plan on getting a lift so for the tire size and wheel spacer it makes the tires align with the fender exactly.

Enjoy my updated pictures.

Is there a certain torque number to install them with?
I was just going to hit them with my Dewalt impact wrench.

What are the negatives to these? Ive seen saftey issues discussed, but I would think that as long as to re-torque them occasionally, they would be any less safe than if you didnt check your lug nuts. Everyone used to hate on wheel spacers, but now I see them being used a lot, especially in desert racing apps. Id like to widen out my stance and I am contemplating getting the 3" spacers off ebay.

Just to warn you 3" spacers, are a bit extreme and will put a lot of stress on your bearings. Most people at max go with 2". If you wanted the extra spacing, you can get wider tires.
