The only screw here is 90159-50054, "Toyota 90159-50054 Screw with Washer" $4.14 list

Thanks, looked in the FSM must have misssed this diagram. Hmmmm looks like there a backing sleeve/nut that appears to be for a machine screw, I may be wrong though...
The illustration is from the Toyota parts microfiche, not something in the FSM.

Just because it's named a screw, doesn't mean it has sheet metal threads. The windshield fasteners (90159-80010) are "screw w/ washer" as well, and they are machine screw threads.

So is this the part? (90159-80010) These look more like what I thought they would be.

On Amoron a thread checker kit is like $28. It will do machine screws/bolts/nuts in both metric and imperial. It will not do tapered screws like wood screws, lag bolts. It will also not likely do the weird sizes like extra fine threads found on guns for example or Whitworth. It would likely work on the a shallow hole for the last listed screw.

go the like home despot - they have metric screw in the common sizes and pitch. Buy 1 of each size and pitch length 20mm = 3mm, 4mm so that would be like 4 screws <$5

No, that's an example of a screw that has machine screw threads, since in your post #3 you seemed to have concerns regaarding what type of threads the screw had. I gave you the part number in my first post, which is post #2 in this thread.

So in the FAQ there was this maybe M6x1.0 x 25mm, you can make them shorter easy enough

1. **I think Mark from Marksoffroad.com posted this**
M6x1.0 grill bolts
M6x1.0 apron bolts
M6x1.0 rear door hinge bolts
M6x1.0 hardtop bolts
M8x1.25 windshield hinge
M8x1.25 running board bolts
M8x1.25 fender brace bolts
M8x1.25 front door hinge bolts.

2. Poser posted this answer
6mmx1.0x15 or 20 Exterior of windshield (The ones that clamp the front lip of the hardtop to the windshield frame)

M6x1.00 in 16 - Suggest buy 50
M6x1.00 in 20 - Suggest buy 50
M6x1.00 in 25mm - Suggest buy 50
M8 x 1.25 in 16 - Suggest buy 50

Ahh got it. This is what fits and what was in there. A pan head would be better as the cowl barely clears the hood.

That's like a sheet metal screw. Screw checkers will not work on them. A lot of times they screw into a plate nut that look like this
