Hey Mike I sent you a pm.

Hello Happy Holidays to all:

I am looking for a complete heater assembly for my 64 FJ40.

Thanks

Mike

Do you have a picture of what heater your looking for. There is a early Nippon~Denso heater that I've never seen more than the heater. Seen only pictures of the water lines and defrost hoses/vents. 65 models have heater that I'm guessing started in 64. Those have a vent for outside air on the side. Don't believe were available in early 64.

Thanks for the reply, to be honest, I really don't know. I assumed that this butchered hole in the firewall is where the blower motor was installed ?

That firewall was not set up for a blower motor. Does your passenger side cowl have the screw on intake cover?

Yup. On the non-heater models, they put the fuse block where the heater would go. You don't even have the four threaded inserts for the heater mounting tabs. That's not a deal killer, but the firewall where the blower motor attaches isn't even contoured to have one fit flush if you wanted.

I had a butcher job on the firewall of my blue 64lwb like yours, and was lucky enough to get a firewall section from a '65 to graft in. After MUCH trimming to get the two pieces to the same size and shape I discovered that the ribbing was not identical between the 64 and 65!:bang:

thought this might help

"...Your mission Mike, should you choose to accept it...."
