Whislt I was sanding back the paint around the hard to reach areas of the firewall I was thinking about the condition of the cab on the other cruiser.:hhmm:

So out to the farm for another look.

FJ55 power steering

Does anyone know if the power steering setup from a FJ55 would fit onto a HJ47? A bloke I work with has one he will give me but it will be a 10 hour trip to it, get it off his wrecked FJ55 and drive back 10 hours.

Or would it be easier to just source a setup from a 60 series?

Parts

If I had what you have in parts and things I would think I was a millionaire. That is some wanted items you have laying there. I would love to have what you are tossing out. X2 on the 60 part.
Keep it coming:cheers:

Newcastle, there's a forty series shop in Melbourne called eureka off road give him a call he knows his stuff. Keep up the good work

Yeah I have heard some talk of this eureka off road, I will give him a call, see if he has anything. There are a few 60 series cruisers about down here so I should be right for parts.

Post some pics up of your troopie! my wifes brother just put a 6.5L v8 turbo diesel in his troopie, man its a absolute weapon! 120km/h downhill, along the flat and uphill!

I hope you take a heap of photos as you go and start a thread of your build. I am sure there are people on here who would want you to share. I wouldn't mind reading about a 47 cab going onto a newer model frame.

I think I have been pretty lucky getting what I have so far! Some of my mates have been ringing me up about old cruisers that they have seen sitting on farms around here and out west NSW so no doubt I will probably end up getting my hands on more old cruisers at some stage.:hhmm:

The FJ55 is going nowhere fast so that power steering setup can stay put while I try to find a 60 series setup that is within my budget.

The weather forecast for the next ten days is about 42 ºC here (107.6 ºF) so its going to be hot working on the 47 this weekend, might be a good time for some :beer::beer:.
