E-brake cable replacement

I’ve done all the adjusting I could, and I was never able to get the pull where it was supposed to be. I’ve read that I need to drop the tank to replace the cable. But I was looking around that area, and it looks like I might be able to fish it through without dropping the tank. The photos below are the best pics I could get of ontop of the tank.

1st photo is the front of the tank (close to front axle) and seems like there’s a lot of space

2nd photo is right where the cable comes up to the tank, and goes between the tank and the belly of the body.
