Nope, probably just not old enough.

Dwell is mostly an old school term that related to point-type distributors. Back in the days when dizzys had points and condenser, dwell was the number of degrees of distributor rotation that the points would be closed. Modern electronic ignitions also use dwell, but we can't adjust it, so we don't worry about it.

Ah, yep never fooled with any points style dizzy's. But at least now I know, "and knowing is half the battle" :)
