Anyone else call Coker? Please give them a call...I'd love a set, so if someone has options, please let me know.

Cruiser-nerd found some really nice tires...check his krusty thread...and he seems to like them.

Thanks for the reply ... got the Primex Trackmaster 500, will be mountedin one week but road test will depend upon engine re-installation ...

What size did you buy? If you don't mind me asking...how much did they cost CDN?

Jim has a set, and he seems to like them :)

104...some guy here in MTL just gave me a quote of over $200 each

At 104 each it would be cheaper to ship from out west...can I have the name/number of where you got them from?

My other option is for a set of these Yokahamas at around $170 each installed.

There is a 700 15 but no photo :frown:

I found another Primex tire that might be interesting. Johnny maybe you can help me find a picture of it on line...lord knows I tried but no luck :frown: It's a Primex mobile home tire in a 750-15, P/N # 402128 that I found at a local tire shop. Not really an off road tire, but it looks sorta like the tire found on page 27 of the 1964 owners manual...more of a cruiser "street tire".

The only other option is for people to call Coker, and ask them to get the molds of the RK3, or make a mold from a decent tire. If not Avon use to have a pretty nice vintage looking tire...maybe they can reintroduce that tire...see below. It can be done, but enough people would need to get on the phone or e-mail.

If none of these will work, I will get tires like Jim got...they look real nice

Hi Peter,

Yup, found those quite a while back. Seriously thought about them, but the really poor wet traction was just too much for me to consider these for my '64.

Thanks:cheers:

Dean...the avons you can get now...they only come in 16" : Vintage Tyres: CAR TYRE: ROAD: TRACTION MILEAGE: 6 PLY: TUBE TYPE

I just got an email from Cooper:

The Courser Traction LT is discontinued. Please see your dealer for
other options.

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.

Well that makes one more tire a "non-option"

Well, at least this is great news for the 45 and 25 guys...but not for us 40 people running stock 15" :frown:

Thanks for the link Johnny. I just sent them an e-mail to see if they can make them in a 700/15.

I tell you, if the '64 came with 16" rims, I would absolutely get these Avons !!!

So I got an e-mail back from Avon...they don't even have a waiting list for a 700/15 tire, and unless they have the need to sell at least 500 tires, they won't make them.

Too bad SOR or some other cruiser parts supplier is not picking up this battle...sure would be nice to have Avon or Coker make us some tires :frown:

Well, at least this is great news for the 45 and 25 guys...but not for us 40 people running stock 15" :frown:

well the 16" rim boys would probably get the real thing...Roadtrak Major's can be bought here from UK:

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your e-mail and interest in our product. Please confirm
the quantity you are interested in. The main reason being that is is
costly to send tyres if low in quantitiy via courier or airfreight due
to its volume. It is probably more cost effective to ship them in a
container if the quantity is high.
Please confirm the quantity you require and we will then provide you
with an official quotation if necessary.
Best Regards
